| medical coding help Is anyone here a medical coder? I am looking at going into that. I work with someone at the clinic that does that and she really enjoys it. Can anyone tell me if they have any experience with this, and how much the pay was? Thanks so much

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I worked in Insurance so I am familiar with medical coding, ICD9 and CPT codes. I know a few of the girls that worked for me left to do that at home and I don't know what it pays but I think it's not to bad.

| I've never done it, but I hear the pay is pretty good. Best wishes with your new job.

| This is very interesting...and something I may seriously look into. I have worked as a Medical Assistant in the same doctor's office for 21 years and he just retired. So I will soon be unemployed...This may be "just what the doctor ordered", as I haven't yet decided, at 51 years old, what I want to do when I grow up...I'm going to check it out and see if I qualify...I hope!!!

| I also work in insurance. And I currently do the billing for a mental health clinic from home and go into the office once a week. The income is ok (although i think hospitals pay much better) IT's not something I love to do as honestly, coding and insurance billing can be tedious and boring and frustrating. BUT it's not difficult and you can make a good income. |
