neighbor problem advice!!! Recently we had neighbors move in and they have these two rabbits that keep running around our yard like digging up all the plants that my dad planted and its driving princess absolute NUTS!!!!!!!! She guards all the windows now and goes CRAZY when she sees them (she wants to kill them!!)... its SO irritating because if i take her out to pee and she sees the rabbits she goes crazy trying to bite it and i cant get her to stop! So last week I wrote them a friendly note to please keep their rabbits off our lawn otherwise they will have to pay for the damages the rabbits are doing to our plants, and how we will not be responsible if any harm is done to their rabbits by our dog if on our property. So for a week we havent seen the rabbits TIL TODAY!!!! They were eating our plants and driving princess nuts again!!! i had to run out and pretend to hit them with a broom so it would run off..ARGH... what should i do??? go talk to them in person? im afraid if i do i might come off as a really rude person (im really mad so if i talk to them i think i might yell or something).. and my parents are on business so they cant do anything about it..

do you/your parents have a fence up? if they are digging holes underneath to get to the yard, you may want to ask them to put up some "critter" fence (i don't know what it's called, but it's green). i don't know if there is anything you can use that's safe to keep them away either (like citrus or pepper for cats). how annoying! and also, if your dog does attack a bunny/rabbit (bunnies are cute, rabbits are annoying!!) the rabbit might attack back. make sure your baby is up to date on vaccines!! good luck

no theres no fence... see we lived in a private area and there was about 2 acres of forest on one side of us and for the past two years they cut down all the trees to build this house.. so no fence so far (they actually called my dad to ask if HE would chip in to build a fence.. ya right!) i dont understand WHY they cant just get some kind of gate or whatever to keep their rabbits in!! and i would never let princess bite it!! im just saying if by accident some reason she happens to run out or something i know she would.. they are like the same size as her!! and who knows if they have rabies or anything so i would never let her even touch them!!

what i meant by rabbits v bunnies is: pets vs rodent problems. even if they are someone's bunnies, they're rabbits to you! i have no idea how to help with such a large amt of property. i'm not even sure if there would be much you could do, especially w/o a fence. sometimes you see plastic owls mounted at gas stations to keep the pigeons, etc away. maybe that could help?

I have a question...they let their rabbits run loose, not in a fence, and they don't run off? I would try to get a live animal trap from Lowe's (we have one, it was about $20. Bait it and catch the rabbit and take it to them and let them know you MEAN business. Maybe if they see their precious bunnies in a cage and in the hands of someone who's a bit ticked off, it will scare them into keeping them up.

anyway i talked to the neighbor after i calmed down and she said "my rabbits are STILL ALIVE???" she there were blood all over her other ones and some died then the rest died after.. and i guess this last one got away..(we live in an area with lots of trees and everyone knows theres coyotes here.. but she lets her animals lose!?..... ) she said even her cat died.. and that when the rabbit comes back then to call her and she will catch it... so i guess problem solved...kinda... ? thanks for ur help everyone! | |
