| HELP! Hair emergency! I tried to highlight my hair and now most of it is VERY blonde and it looks REALLY bad! Any ideas on how to help the situation besides shaving my head and getting a wig?

i just had to cut it short and let it all grow out. i think you might have to wait a couple of weeks before you can really do any other coloring to it. wow..I'm sorry. I know there are a few people on here that "do hair"...maybe they will be able to help??? crossing my fingers for you. keep us updated, k??

| I'd go see a hair stylist, but I think you'll have to give it atleast a week before they can recolor it. It'll give you time to see if blondes do have more fun.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | If you want to "tone" down the lightness or it is brassy - you'd want to buy a color that is "ash". It really depends on what you want in the end - do you want to low-light it so that some of the light pieces are still there? Or, do you want to darken the whole thing?

| Doing your own color is NEVER a good idea, let alone Highlighting it yourself!! i wouldn't try to fix it yourself.. make an appt. to see someone(a hairstylist-make sure they are good though and know what they are doing!!) your hair is already porous from lightening it yourself(and is very fragile.. it will all work out and look fine in the end-but go to a professional and have them look at it and fix it(that way you will save your hair.. keep it healthy, and make it look good too!!)-plus if you get your hair done by someone you trust.. you can count on it being consistent, healthy, and gorgeous all the time(they can work with you to give you the color that you "want", while keeping in mind what will work for you, your hair, and your lifestyle!!

| I just spent $300 yesterday getting my home-dye-job fixed. Color correcting specialist are expensive, but SO worth it, my hair has never looked better. I highly suggest letting a pro do it from now on. The money I "saved" on doing my hair myself, I just spent

| Thanks guys for all your tips and advice! I was almost having an anxiety attack because of this and was absolutely miserable! I went to Rite Aid and bought some all over dye that is really close to my natural color and dyed my hair back and it looks even BETTER! It's strange because the color I got yesterday was medium golden brown and it looks like a reddish brown to me. I dunno. Anyways, I'm just glad it's over. From now on, I stick with my brownish tones. No more blonde for me!

| I was so scared! I had NEVER done anything to my hair before. I took Xanax when my SIL was doing it.

| As long as you didnt damage your hair you could probably dye it again using a dirty blonde to light brownish dye (always a few shades lighter than what your going for).. This will cover the highlights and the conditioner always makes my hair feel softer and healthier.. You might find more help on Yahoo! Answers =] |

Peeka Boo I See You! Donating Member | What color was your hair before you colored it? My mom is a cosmotoigist as well as my sister lol. You might gewt away with putting on a toner but if you were trying to go one color and you already had colored your hair before this is why it didn't work. Just so everyone knows The colors on the boxes and the sample hair colors are all colored on Virgin Hair(Hair that has never been colored before) Thus you will never get the true color you want.... I always reccomend go to a professional who knows what they are doing lol. There is hope for you just go in...
