| It might be...especially if you have an anxious personality. I can't remember anything I've done recently...but i can remember 1st grade like it was yesterday!

BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | It may be stress also, I have have been working 7 days a week now for almost a year! I think it's really starting to get to me big time. This is why I have stopped sewing, I just can't do it anymore. I get home from work at 2 and I feel so exhausted! And I work at my moms house taking care of 2 elderly ladies, so out of 5.5 hours, I only work maybe 2 hours a day, so I should have no reason to be so tired. And NO, I'm not prego LOL Had that problem fixed lol It may be this stupid medication. I have been on it for over 8 months now. I'm not due to go back to the doctors till October. |

| Working 7 days a week for over a year would stress anyone out! That's too much...you need time to relax and recharge...you are always on "go'. DO you ever get a massage? Or a manicure/pedicure? Or a spa day? Or a day just for yourself to lay around and watch TV or read or sit by the water, or spend the day with a good friend? Believe me, it's important...and worth a day of 'no pay'!! I can attest to that!

| Missy, you might not be due to go back to the dr in October, but, you've had a change and it may be the lexapro. Please, call the dr & make an appt now, before you go to TX. It could just be that you need a little adjustment in meds. I felt good on lexapro but after a few months i was having the same problem. We don't need you to go to Texas and not remember how wonderful it was!!!

| I remember my mom taking an anxiety pill that made her forget all the time. I can't remember the name of it for anything, I'll have to ask her. I know they switched her. I think she has about tried them all.

| My daughter was taking Klonipin and it had the same effect on her that you are describing...and she was in her first semester of nursing school. Her dr. changed her to something else. |

BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | I just got off the phone with my doctors office and talked with the nurse and she had scheduled me in today at 2pm, she says since I'm going to be traveling and since I have never been on a plane, it's a good idea to get in and see what may be going on. |

| Good for you for making the appointment. What they did for me? Took it away. With my brain injury I either have no thoughts running through my head or too many. The doctors have tried several kinds of med's to help: Aricept, Welbutrin, Lexapro.. & others..I can usually be on them for a month or two then they have to stop because of the side effects. There just isn't a medication to quiet my little sore head!

| Forgetfulness is a side effect of Lexapro but it is only a temporary side effect. If you've been taking Lexapro for eight months, then the recent problems you have been experiencing aren't due to the Lexapro unless you stopped taking it for awhile and then went back on it recently. It sounds like you are experiencing a worsening of GAD symptoms which can easily happen when someone with anxiety has a recent buildup of stress in their life. Some of the symptoms of GAD such as difficulty concentrating, being easily distracted, forgetting, etc are all symptoms of GAD that Lexapro (a type of SSRI) helps to control. Has the Lexapro been working for you in the past? If so, then your dosage needs to be increased to account for the change in your symptoms. This is actually a very common problem. Typically in this type of situation, the recommend course of action is an increase in the SSRI dosage (Lexapro in your case). However, because of the way SSRIs work, it will take anywhere from 2 - 8 weeks for a dosage increase to alleviate your symptoms. So in order to provide rapid relief of symptoms, short term daily usage of a benzodiazepine (minor tranquilizer) such as alprazolam, clonazepam, or lorazepam in a small dosage (assuming no past history of depression) is also recommended. The use of a small dosage benzodiazepine breaks the GAD/stress cycle which can be difficult to overcome with the use of a SSRI only. Obviously, only your doctor knows what's best for your individual situation but this is the course of action I find to be the most effective in the majority of cases. Sorry I didn't see this before your doctor's appt but I hope it was of some help anyway. If your doctor has not given you any type of mild tranquilizer to give you immediate relief, then you may want to ask for some, especially before you fly or if your symptoms get worse. Feel free to PM me and I'll help however I can.
