| Giant spider..big enough to carry off my Yorkies! Well, maybe it couldn't carry off the Yorkies, but it sure is a big spider! I looked up it's identity on the net, it's a "black and yellow garden spider". It's harmless unless you are a flying insect. I'm all for it eating all the insects it wants on our back deck!

| Wow, that's interesting! We took several pictures of this same type spider this week at Lake Buchanan, down by Austin and wondered what kind it was. Yeah, they are huge!! I would post more wonderful pictures for you people that "love" spiders, but they will have to be resized first. So sorry...hehe!!

| You guys that live in the southern states seem to have "weird" big looking spyders. I know we certainly have our share up here, but that one is gross. Did you kill it? I would have had to. I wouldn't have wanted to take a chance on "that" thing getting into my house.

| My dad gets those on his porch everyyear, he will watch them for awhile. THey will "write" things in the web too. if you get too close and make them mad they will start swinging the entire web back and forth. stay there too long and they will jump off on you! lol...

| I hate spiders. We have black widows and brown recluses around here, and I'm forever setting them, and their nests on fire.

| We use to call those banana spiders when I was growing up....maybe because of the coloring....I have no clue. I remember catching several and taking them to show and tell at school....we always found a lot of them in the hay barn....they do get big!
