| Alaska vacation Hi All! We are back from the vacation of a lifetime to Alaska. Sadly, I wasn't able to connect with AlaskaYorkie - but we are already planning our next trip so we will definitely see Jack and Eddie then!!! We started out for 3 days on a Holland America cruise ship, next we spent 9 days on a land tour by bus, train and river boat. Last, we spent 8 days on our own on the Kenai Peninsula. Mike asked me to post some pix so here goes! 1. me in a life vest for safety training on the cruise ship 2. hubby and me on a sea tour 3. me and hubby (on left) in a PACKED car!!!

My hubby is going on a 5 day cruise to the Caribbean with his sisters for only $400. I think the Caribbean cruises are less expensive than the Alaska tours

| Here's a couple of pictures of Rowdy "helping" us get ready to go. Actually, he got sick while we were gone and had to spend a couple of days in the hospital with an intestional infection. The vet said it may have been caused by the stress of us being gone and he WOULD NOT EAT for my mom! We will definitely take him with us the next time we go!!!

| Your pictures are BEAUTIFUL! It sounds like you had a great trip and made memories to last a lifetime. I envy you. There were 2 trips my husband and I wanted to go on and they were to Hawaii and Alaska but he died unexpectedly and we didn't get to go on either one

I'm so sorry to hear this! Actually, my husband developed sudden and unexpected heart failure 3 1/2 years ago and when he recovered enough to be up and about, he said the one place he wanted to go before he died was Alaska. So, we went on an inside passage cruise to Alaska summer before last and then this summer, he was feeling a little better so we decided to do as much of Alaska as possible. It was worth it!!! Folks, don't wait, do what you can, when you can!

| Alaska is on the top of my list. I'm whale crazy! Did you see any killer or humpback whales??? I go and see the humpbacks in Maui every year. That's where they breed and give birth. The same whales spend their summers in Alaska.

| Yes, we did see some whales - not as many as I would have liked though. In Seward, there are many whale watching tours, but the seas were very rough when we were there and I get VERY seasick, so I didn't go out far enough to see a lot of whales.
