| Sick dog I drive past a house every day and today I noticed a very thin dog chained to a tree. There was also a little girl feeding it.... I want to call and get help for this dog but, could this send its owners to jail? I would hate to take away a little girls parents. This "house" is a run down trailer so I doubt these people have that much money. I just dont know what do do. What do you guys think? |

My furkids Donating Member | If I were you I would contact the animal control or ASPCA...whatever you have near by. I don't believe the parents would be sent to jail unless they are intentionally ignoring the dog and he isn't being fed or given water. You would be doing the animal a favor by reporting them.

| I really doubt they'll be put in jail. Probably what will happen is animal control will come out and look at the dog and give the owners a notice to better feed and water the dog as well as give it better shelter. They may even take the dog away. The worst thing that could happen to the owners would probably be a fine.

| if you don't want the little girl to lose her dog, maybe you could buy a big bag of dry dog food and give it to them. i'm not sure how much the giant bags are, but they're probably not TOO much, and they'd probably last a long time
