Peeka Boo I See You! Donating Member | Omg My Son Had A Rock In His Ear !! Well last night around 8 pm my 7 yr old son came downstairs and said mom do you remeber when i told you i put a rock in my ear?? i of course thought he was just trying to stay out of bed ( he makes excuses to get out of bed often) i told him just go to bed and go to sleep well about 5 min later i heard him in the bathroom in the cubbord and he come out with a Q-tip i tell him come hear and let me see assuming i would find nothing. so i get a flash light and to my surprise there looked like there was something in there so i took a pair of tweezers and it was infact hard i couldn't reach it and it looked as if it had fallen down a little more so off to the hospital we went! On my way to the hospital i recalled a conversation with my son maybe a month ago that he had asked me " mom what would happen if i put a rock in my ear and i told him he would be in trouble so i asked if he did and he told me no." i let it go so now i was freaking out i knew there was a rock in there . we get to the doctors and she looks in his ear with the black thing and she goes he has ear wax we need to flush it out so when she walked out i looked again and she had pushed the rock all the way down in his ear canal becase she thought it was wax. So they do an irrigation by pushing water in his ear an while he is screaming and after about 5 times she say oh here comes some big wax. it got stuck so she got a scrapper and we heard for sure it was a rock it was scraping it was so gross to hear finally we got it out and it was a rock OMG the doctor comes in and say yep it ear wax ( i almost smacked her) we said no it is a rock she looks at it again wow it is a rock it is the same color as wax stupid doctor i swear she could have really made it bad if we couldn't have got it out because she pushed it in so far.. well the rock is about 1/4 inch wide almost 1/2 inches long and just under 1/4 inches thick geeze!!! i have included some pics they sent it home with me in a specimin jar hahahaha. it had to be in there for a while thank goodness there was no infection or damage i feel so dumb but geeze you think he would've said something before this lol.

| Lucky you that the ER "dr" didn't burst an eardrum. Sometimes I just hate having to go to the ER and deal with all the "Doogie Housers". I'm glad your little guy is ok. Patty |

| oh my goodness! I'm glad he's OK and it's out of there! I also got a chuckle out of it though (sorry!) remembering the time my one daughter stuck a catepillar up her nose and it never came back out!

| I've heard of rocks in your head but in the ears..... have you noticed lately he was ignoring you ... Glad his ears are ok, could have worse... My niece ( about 8) put something up her nose & it was there so long it stunk when it came out, I think it was a piece of cotton...EEEWWW!

| Ha Ha. My GD did that. She actually put it in her ear during nap time at school so when wouldn't lose it. She called it her pet rock. I am sure the ER sees it often, I am not sure why the doc couldn't tell what it was. |

| I am glad that the rock came out!!!! That must have felt awfully funny in there. Kids do the craziest stuff....!!! Once my Mom took my little brother to the doctor because he put a pussywillow up his nose!!! Once it got there it got bigger!!! The doctor had to extract it!!!
