| Kinda ticked off Since I found out I was pregnant, within one week I have had 3 people (including 2 family members) ask me if I was going to get rid of my dogs. What is wrong with people? Why in the world would I get rid of a dog/dogs just because Im pregnant? Why dont people understand that my furkids are a very important part of my family? Thats like me asking someone if they plan to get rid of their child, pretty rude- huh? Its assanine and makes me mad. And plus people keep immediately trying to belittle my furkid family, make them seem unimportant. They tell me how much more important a baby will be and that I wont care as much for dogs. Bull honky! They obviously dont understand me. Dont get me wrong, Im excited about a human baby and will love my own more than anything but I love my furbabies just as much as ever and that will never change. I will always be a huge dog lover. I will always want to hold someones dog before I ever want to come in contact with thier child (I'm not big on other people's babies, I just dont know what to do, I dont oohhh and ahhhh over them like everyone else I cant baby talk with a human baby, but I can certainly start wrestling and loving on anyone's dogs, I guess Im a huge weirdo). Thats just who I am, I love dogs, I love on them, and this will not change. Sorry, I just had to vent, now I feel better getting that off my chest. I think YT members are the only people that get me.

Yeah I used to have people say it to me before I was pregnant too. They always acted like what I was doing with my furkids was meaningless and I wouldnt actually have "true" meaning in my life until I had a human baby. I'll tell you right now my furkids have brought me great meaning to my life for 5 years now! But anyways its pretty much those same people talking now. They are so excited for me because now I will have a real kids, real maning, etc, etc bla bla bla. They are making me mad and almost ruining my joyous occasion. I dont ever want to see my furkids belittled like that, they are and always will be my kids too.

| I had dogs before my Daughter and have more than I did now I love them all with all my heart. The Olnly thing that would make me rehome because of a child would be aggression towards the child that can not be altered. Tell the people to mind there own business. |

| I've never been pregnant, but I've had so many people who have said the rudest things to me when I had parrots. My pets are like my children, and I would DIE trying to save them. They bring so much joy and meaning to my life and have for so long, that I don't see how you can just up and get rid of them b/c certain things in your life have changed. Now, you'll just have MORE to love. REALLY...what is wrong with people? I think there are just some people who feel and love more deeply than others. And there's also a lot of ignorant, soul-less people out there Like I've always heard: be suspicious of someone who doesn't like animals. Oh..and BTW, congratulations on your impending motherhood to a non-furred species, lol.

| aww, Shana I'm so sorry. They abviously haven't owned pets, and don't realize how much they really are to us. As it goes...until one has owned a pet, a part of his soul remails unawakened. They are just blind to the truth! |

| My mom is like that. She just doesn't get that of course I love my children, and they take priority, but my dogs come right after that. . . then my husband. . . and on down the line, lol. I was like that also, I wasn't into kids, but would gravitate towards their pets. Now that has changed a bit -- I understand the baby thing and know how to deal with children now (this came only after I had my oldest child). But I'm still very into animals; dogs in particular, and that's just who I am. My mom is always acting as though I have a problem. . . and when I told her I was getting a third dog she freaked (even though I'm a grown adult, and take care of my family). . . Lol, to bring it this to the conclusion, lol -- I understand where you are, and don't let anyone make you feel bad or guilty because you love your dogs. There's nothing wrong with you, lol, everyone has their passions, and you are lucky that you found yours and now you'll have a child to share the things you love with.

| Sadly, there are many people out there for whom dogs are disposable, and they expect everyone else to be the same. These people are the same people who drop their dog off at the pound because they are no longer convenient. I grew up with dogs, but yet, am the only one in the family who treats mine like family and doesnt' dispose of them easily Hang in there, and forgive them. They don't know better.

| I'm so sorry they are being that way! My mom has always told me that having Simon and Hallie has prepared me to be a parent one day. She said to tell you that you are going to be a great mom because you have taken care of your furbabies so well |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Awww...that was nice of your Mom to say Kim - and Shana - some people just don't get it - I don't know why people think being pregnant is a reason to give up a pet especially when we all love our pets as much as our kids. I know I do. and Shana - you WILL be a great mom ....just let it slide. The people that feel that way don't know what they're missing |

| Yep, I agree. There are many people who "get rid" of their animals as soon as they have a baby. It's like the animal was their baby till "the real thing" came along. Those poor animals are displaced into humane societies or worse... |

| Sorry they're putting you through that This is one of the reasons that I (personally) have decided that I will not be telling anyone that I'm pregnant until they figure it out themselves. Too much drama. Chloe is my child, fur or skin, it's all the same to me.
