Peeka Boo I See You! Donating Member | I NEED Help??????FENCE???? I am going to put up a chain link fence in my front yard at the begining of next month. my husband and dad are going to do it. My question is this do i go buy the fencing material at home depot or has anyone have a better place to buy from? should i call a fencing company to see if i can get the material cheaper through them? does anyone know the best and cheapest place to go? Home depot will cost me about $500.00 i don't have a lot of money but i want a nice fence for the dogs i am having a hard time with them going potty on a leash. Any suggestions are welcome thanks guys

| This is a bit up my alley..I helped my husband put up fence for about 6 yrs... The main difference in fencing is the gauge of the wire, the fence co. may be 12 gauge where the hardware store may be about 11 gauge...what I mean by that is the thickness of the wire...the fence co. is definitely better mainly because of the strength...the diamond shape on the wire from the fence co. is also a little smaller where the hardware store is slightly bigger....all the posts & top rail at the hardware store is also thinner...but if cost is a big factor then the hardware store will be fine, just make sure kids don't jump on it & watch so you don't keep hitting it with the lawn mower other wise it will function just fine....hang onto extra wire for repairs in the wire, you can just remove the damaged section & weave the new part in & it's as good as new, this will only work using the same wire you originally used..Good luck, I wished I lived closer I would love to help....

| It wont change the fact of the thinner wire...it will probably be just fine as long as your a little careful with it & keep kids off it I've seen kids jumping over fences like that & the top rail bent after awhile of doing this...

| I forgot to add.... I don't know if your husband & dad have done this before or not but it's really important that they put the posts in deep enough, it must be below the frost line ( if I remember right it was 3 ft.) or after a while the cement w/ the post will come out of the ground from the freezing & thawing
