Donating YT 2000 Club Member | OT-We are suppose to be the richest country in the world! but not everyone gets the medical attention they need. My Dad wants(needs) to go up to the Cancer treatment center of America but his insurance won't allow it. If he goes the insurance will only pay 30%. With pancreatic cancer that could be a big chunck of change. They are the only one around we know that has a new radiation machine( Radiofrequency ablation) that can directly hit the pancreas without damaging the other organs and tissue. He is going to file for long term disability on Wednesday so maybe that will help. We can help everyone in the world but we can't help our own people. That is sad.. I think it is time our country starts putting its money back into its own people! Just needed to vent a little. Thanks for listening.

| Really sorry to hear about your dad...I know exactly what your talking about w/ the insurance co. it can be so frustrating....it's so wrong when insurance co.'s tell doctors what tests to run, what med.'s to write how long we can stay in the hospitals etc. etc. ...I don't know if this link will offer anything for your situation but it never hurts to inquire... http://www.pancreatic.org/site/c.htJ...ancial_Aid.htm Good luck in your search for assistance....

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Praying that your Dad can get the treatment he needs. Having worked in Health Insurance for 33 years, make sure he or someone can fight it out with the insurance company. Write or call thr President, no one else and mention he is fighting for his life and nicely inform them that you will get the media involved if needed. Unfortunately you sometimes have to be pushy and not so nice but I have seen it work time after time. Good luck.
