| Cat Question! How long dose a cat stay in heat? My hubbies cat was just in heat like 2 to 4 weeks ago and she is in heat again! Do female cats spray like the male cats do? I keep smelling like a pee smell but its only when she is in the room. I don't know if she is just giving off a smell or what... but me being preg. I can smell it like 100 times worse and I can't handel the smell! Even thou hubby "SAYS" he can't smell it I plane on getting her fixed as SOON as she stops. I can't handle the meowing. Let alone the smell! Last edited by OLIVIA_KARHIS; 05-05-2007 at 08:48 AM. |

| Cats come can come in heat quite frequently, especially in the warmer months!! Mine came in heat frequently like your cat is doing. And it was so annoying!! The meowing and the spraying was too much to handle. So as soon as they came out of heat, which wouldn't last long, I immediately took them to get them spayed!! Cats are horrible when they are in heat!! So now all 3 of mine are spayed and have been for awhile and I no longer have to put up with the meowing and spraying and them sticking their butt up in the air all the time!! Good luck with your cat, try to get her spayed as soon as you can!!

| Once a cat goes into heat or estrus, she may stay in heat for several days, to 2-3 weeks. Some cats, once they are sexually mature and enter estrus, do not come out of heat unless and until they are either bred to a full male cat, or spayed. The majority of cats will cycle in and out of estrus during the prime breeding season (roughly December through August), returning back into heat approximately every other week. She may be trying to leave her scent around for the males. |
