| It's been a really bad New Year for me.... Hey guys, I'm popping in to say Hello, and thank Yorkie talk for sending me a Happy Birthday email. Thanks for wishing Kodak a happy birthday April 14th in his birthday posts. Everyone here is so wonderful and helpful, I love it here. It's not much of a birthday or to much of a New Year, but God is good so it's going to be ok. Most of you know when I got Kamari she came the week my 17 yr old daughters lung collasped. My daughter stayed in the hospital 3 weeks because she had to have surgery to repair the lung. She's much better and she's on 6mos light duty/no physical activity. This made me neglect training and spending a lot of time with Kamari. I am making up for lost time but it's harder. Well, I got a call Wed night from my mom (who lives upstairs from me) saying my kitchen was on fire. My daughter was cooking french fries and chicken tenders on the electric stove which started a grease fire. I had to leave my job on 32nd street to get to 197th street so you can imagine that ride home not knowing anything. I was told when the firemen got to my apartment, they evacuated the building. I was ok knowing they were there because I heard them shouting to my mom to evacuate. I still didn't know the extent of the fire or if any injuries. My cousin got there first and called me and said everyone was ok and one neighbor was treated for smoke inhalation. During evacuation, Kodak came out but Kamari hid. Now I was frantic not knowing what was going on. Once I knew the family was ok, I needed to know my pups were ok. I knew if I home, Kamari would've followed me out. My uncle was went back in to my apartment while the firefighters were in the kitchen and found Kamari. I was so happy when they called me back the knot in my stomach opened up. I was trying not to cry but when I got home and saw the damage and the smell, it hurt bad. I know the fire isn't real serious and lives weren't lost and I thank God for that, it's just the principle. Fire is very damaging and the smoke damage alone is gut wrenching. I just needed to get on here for a minute as I have been cleaning all day and throwing stuff away. My landlord is out of town, so he hasn't seen the damage yet. I hope his insurance Co. doesn't charge me anything as hospital bills are already kicking my butt. To top it all off, my daughter goes on prom Friday and my house smells like smoke. I'm so glad her dress was still at the cleaners to be ironed. Her room is set off from the kitchen and it was full of smoke. I have enclosed some photos, you can see where the spider webs are black as the fire was trying to make it's way to my daughters room. I just ask everyone to keep me uplifted with your funny stories and beautiful pictures of your furbabies in your topics. It helps keep depression from setting in. Thanks for letting me get this off my chest.

| Wow, so sorry to hear about your misfortune. The pics do look scary but at least everyone including your babies are alright and that's what matters the most. I can sure relate to not having a good year thus far! I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Take care and remember time heals most things...

| WOW!!! i'm glad everyone is ok. You keep praying too! i know its hard to understand but lean not to your own understanding. everything happens for a reason. and it is not for us to know those reasons every time! God kept you all safe and that is the important thing. you can always replace things but not a life! be blessed! keep your head up!

| OMG thank god everyone was ok!!! You must have been so terrified while you were driving home! But thank goodness your family and the 2 babies made it out safely and unharmed. So sorry to hear about your daughter. She's so young. Is she going to make a full recovery? I will keep her and you both in my prayers.
