| Lock down...YIKES!! OMG!!!! My 15 year old just called me fromm school and they are in lockdown!!! Apparently someone has threatened the school so both of my teenagers are locked in their classrooms and were told to contact a parent. I feel so helpless!!! I want to go get them but they will not release them from the school. Argghh!!!!! Thanks for listening...I just nmeeded to vent.

| I've been seeing that on the news. There are several schools around the country that have had threats. Several in California. You and you teens are definitely in my prayers! Hang in there.... |

| OMG, with everything that's been going on, that seems like a very scary situation. I hope your kids are safe and nothing bad is going on. They didn't give you any details? Keep us posted.

| I'm so sorry what you and your girls are going through right now. It is such a scary situation. We had a lockdown once and I was trying to keep 20 2nd graders calm. It bothers me so much that there is so much of this going on in the world. I just heard that a man in Arizona was arrested for threatening a school out there. We live in a very scary world. If we can't be safe at a school, where can we be safe?

| Oh those poor kids. What fear they must be living. Is this really the USA? It is becoming more like a third world country! Someone better wake up and take charge of what is happening to this wonderful country and the effect it is having on our young? No one is safe and the awful thing about it is most of the time it is our own. I hope your children and all the others are safe until this horrible scare, pray that's all it is, is over. |

| No details. My daughter called me from her cell phone and I could hear several others in the background also talking on cells. My son forgot his phone today. From what she told me the school was threatened, by whom I don't know...I assume a student? Each student was told to contact a parent. They are in lockdown, so she is locked in the computer lab which she seems to think is the safest place to be. I have no idea where my sons class is. My instinct tells me to drive to the school and wait in the parking lot. I was going to bathe Peanut and Toby but now I am sitting by the phone. Calling the school does no good...it is just a recording. Argghh!!!

| I too heard about some 36 schools that were on lock down because of the copy cats out there that find it amusing. Let's hope and pray that they are just on lock down because they are conducting a search. My prayers are with you and your children.

| Thank you! I sooo appreciate yours and everyone elses support. I am hoping that they are just being cautious and that there is no real threat. I think what scared me most is that they were allowed to, and actually told to, use cell phones to contact family. Cell phones are not even allowed at school, yet they were told to use them possibly causing us parents to panick, like I obviously am.

Since I am a teacher, we have gone through our lock down training. The biggest thing that we try to stress to parents is to not come right away during an emergency. BECAUSE if there is someone out there with a gun the last thing we want to happen is for the parents to get injured. I'm sure the proper authorities are there taking control of the situation. Can you call your daughter back and see if she knows any more information? Maybe try calling the district - but knowing how crazy things get, the less calls the better - that way they are able to focus on the situation at hand. I'm glad your daughter is locked in the computer room. I'm sure your son's teacher got them to a room to keep them safe. I believe all schools have had to go through lock down training. Please let us know when they are home safe with you. I'll be thinking about them until I hear.
