| So annoyed, What would you do?? Im sooooo annoyed right now. My STUPID thug neighbors across the street have hondas that they work on and do all that stupid stereo crap on it and they are just sitting outside blaring thier base in thier stereo systems as loud as they possibly can. Im in the back room of my house and I can hear it (actually I cant possibly ignore it). Its vibrating all my furniture and knick-knacks on my shelf They already did this for 45 minutes today from 4-4:45 and now 3 hours later they are doing it again. I have ADHD and I cant tune out crap like this so its very distracting while Im trying to work. PLus it just drives me literally insane Problem is, Im really shy and I dont know my neighbors or have the balls to personally go outside and yell at them to stop. So I thought about calling the police but everytime it seems like I finally decide I'm going to they stop the music. I also feel like the police have better things to do then come out here becuase my dumb neighbors cant turn down their stereo but still, I cant take it anymore! My hubby also thinks if I call the police the neighbors will know its me and this will start a problem. I already had to call the cops on them once when they had a really loud party at 2 am and they started a huge fight outside in the street. What would you do if you were me? Ive lived in this house for 4 years and the neighborhoods not bad at all, its just this one house that seems to be a problem. Should I call the police the next time they have thier stereo systems vibrating my house? They cant do that, right? There has to be something I can do

| Shana - I'm so sorry you have to deal with this. Seriously - have you thought about trying some yoga relaxation techniques? You might find them helpful to help you "tune out".

| if you don't have the guts to go yell at them.. maybe you can write and leave them a note.. that way, they don't know that it's you... or... you can call me and hand them the phone next time they do that.. I'll be more than happy to yell at them

| Sorry about what you're going through--but hey- You can definitely call the police! I live in a condo complex and some obnoxious loser under me was playing loud music...maybe having a party, I don't know...It really sounded like he was chucking something against the walls too... Soooo, I called! A police officer came out, and it stopped! Of course *rolls eyes*. But he was so nice and just said to call again if I had an issue. Don't you know 10 mins after the policeman left, they start up again!!!! I seriously felt bad calling back, but I did because I was taking the LSATs the next day. Policeman came back, wasn't upset at all! As long as you don't call the emergency number, they'll come and should be really helpful. I would definitely call, don't feel bad! You need your peace and quiet too!!! |

| That would drive me crazy too!! Okay Shana, I've seen your pictures and this is where being a cute girl is a huge perk. I bet if you walked over and sweetly said, hey guys, I'm working, any chance of you turning the music down?- Bet they'd trip over themselves to turn it down. Good luck- from one shy girl to another, I know it's easier said than done.

Irionically Im too shy(petrified is more like it) to go over there and nicely say something, but if they get me mad enough I will possibly go over there and yell at them. They make me crazy! By the way the music has stopped now, thank goodness!

| I have the same problem, I live in the country and across the road they play their music so loud I can hear it in every room of my house. My dogs bark and bark when they play it so loud, I called them and told them about it too. They are in their late 30's and they need to grow up. so now every time I hear it I call over there and tell them. it drives me crazy. |

I wish I could do something like that to relax. Yoga and anythign like that doesnt work for me. Im a really high-strung, hyper person, and I have anxiety pretty bad so relaxing and tuning stuff stuff out just isnt a gift God blessed me with

| I'd complain to the police. We've got a young guy across the street that stays up all night long and works on his cars and used to have the music blaring. I gave him 3 days and complained. He works in silence now... |

Thats the other problem, the dogs go NUTS while my house shakes and the music is blaring outside. So even if I could tune it out, I cant possibly tune out the dogs

| I actually don't think a pretty young girl should walk over and tell a few thugs to shut the music off. jmo Just complain to the police, they'll warn them. |

| If I lived closer to you, I'd come right over and work with you. Sometimes, it just takes the right instructor. Go get yourself a nice massage and then come home and crack open that bottle of wine!!!

I Love Thor Donating Member | Hey Shana, Don't feel bad calling the police about this. If it makes you feel better, there's a back number you can porlly look up in the phone book for your local station and that way you don't have to call 911. Or like someone else said, you could leave them a note. But I know that might be a little nerve racking running over there and dropping a note at their door. Maybe your husband could walk over there and say something? OR bring Penny with you, and just say, "could you please turn that down because my house is vibrating." They aren't going to do anything to you, so don't be shy of that. The worst they could do is say 'no, mind your own business'. I know it's tough cause you don't want to get into a battle with your neighbors, but, its your neighborhood too, and you deserve a little peace. Good luck! |
