| help Ok so the neighbors have this yellow lab puppy that they have had for a while and we called city hall about it once cuz it was barking at 630 in the morning and my hubby gets home from work at 400 a.m. so that wasnt working for us. well today it is running lose and it dug in our trash set out for trash man to pick up and it was starving to i called it over and fed it. well then it about got hit by a car and then it was jumping on the otehr neighbors. well i feel sorry for it its raining and cold here today and the poor thing has been tied up out back of the neighbors house with no dog house or anything. so i went and got it and brought it in teh house so it wouldnt get in anymore trouble and then i called the neighbor who just got home from school i got ahold of the girl who lives there and she told me she knew it was lose and she wasnt gonna come get it cuz she sprang her ancle at practice and that they were tryig to get rid of it. and then wished me luck told me it was hyper and got off the phone. what do i do now? |

| I'd call SPCA.... Clearly they don't care about the puppy..... Puppy will be at better place than where he/she is now.... |

| Oh my! If you have a no-kill shelter I would contact them. Or you might want to call and see if they know of any Labrador rescues in the area. They'd probably take him, and might even have the original owners ticketed. Good luck,

| Wow! What a story! They don't want it at all? Maybe you can keep him? Or if you can't, it should be easy to find him a new home, because he's still a puppy. Either way, you should report those neglectful owners, who should've never been allowed to have a dog in the first place...good luck! |

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | i would definately call the police and animal control in your area to report your neighbors. They should be fined for what they did to the puppy. They cannot keep a dog outside without proper housing and food. Also you said it got hit by a car so they are neglectful of it as well because i'm sure they didn't seek medical attention for it. if you don't want to relinquish it to the shelter tell them that you will keep it and find it a home, or you can call a resuce. But keep in mind that labs are very popular and it may be hard to get him into a rescue. If that's the case, a no kill shelter would be best if you can't keep him.

| If he's just a puppy he may calm down as he gets old and be the dog you are looking for. How about giving him a chance?

| i talked to the neighbor funny how she had the strength to hobble over here after she told me she told me she couldnt come over to get the dog. basically shes leaving it here. but im already having problems. the dog is very hyper and keeps humping everything when he gets arround my yorkie, i guess cuz shes a girl. i guess i will be calling the vet tomorow to get him apt. to get fixed. i do not know what im gonna do with him for tonight though. i have a dog crate from a past dog that he fits in but he will not go in and when i finally got him in he barked so loud i couldnt leave him in it. im trying to give him a chance ive heard nutering them calms them down i hope it does. |

| came to a semi solution. I called the neighbors who disowned the dog and sweet talked them into tying the dog back up for the night at their house back where he was. prolly not the best place for him to be since apparently he can get loose, but he just wasnt going to stop trying to hump stuff with anna my yorkie arround and he was getting to hyper. people on a lab message board suggested he get a walk and some exercise so i will try that in the morning and clal the vet about getting him fixed. will see how that goes. |
