| If your a teacher, you need to read this! They are shortening our Christmas and Spring Breaks. What do you guys think about that? And what do you think about the Social Security and TRS thing? Read this:VERY IMPORTANT FOR TEACHERS Folks -- This was done at the busiest time of the year for educators so you won't take care of yourselves & let them know that you don't approve. Besides cutting benefits for teachers and peopleon the TRS system like paras, these folks gave themselves ENORMOUS retirement benefits. A legislator who works every other year for 12 years can retire with 32,000 a year plus full medical. A teacher or para who works 12 years full time can retire at 3,312 (based on 12,000) to 15,180 (based on 55,000) + 100 per month toward medical insurance. If you want to compare 26 years in both cases, the legislator retires at 72,000 with full medical and the para or teacher (based on $12,000 to 55,000 dollar salaries) gets $7,176 to 32,890 plus 100 toward medical insurance! The legislator say that it's because they make so little, but all of them have other jobs or are retired. If enough teachers e-mail or write or call, it can cause them to back down. If we don't, we deserve what we get. Take a moment to take care of yourself and future educators! It is all driving me crazy!!!!! Write your legislature: Name District E-mail County Rob Orr 58 rob.orr@house.state.tx.us Johnson Phil King 61 phil.king@house.state.tx.us Parker Charlie Geren 99 charlie.geren@house.state.tx.us Tarrant Anna Mowery 97 anna.mowery@house.state.tx.us Tarrant Lon Burnam 90 lon.burnam@house.state.tx.us Tarrant Marc Veasey 95 marc.veasey@house.state.tx.us Tarrant Kent Grusendorf 94 kent.grusendorf@house.state.tx.us Tarrant Toby Goodman 93 toby.goodman@house.state.tx.us Tarrant Bill Zedle \r 96 bill.zedler@house.state.tx.us Tarrant Bob Griggs 91 bob.griggs@house.state.tx.us Tarrant Vicki Truitt 98 vicki.truitt@house.state.tx.us Tarrant Todd Smith 92 todd.smith@house.state.tx.us Tarrant Myra Crownover 64 myra.crownover@house.state.tx.us Denton Burt Solomons 65 burt.solomons@house.state.tx.us Denton Brian McCall 66 brian.mccall@house.state.tx.us Collin Jerry Madden 67 jerry.madden@house.state.tx.us Collin Please write to them, let your voice be heard!
