Donating YT 30K Club Member | My Mom had a stroke today I am so devastated. She is in intensive care and cannot speak but a few hardly recognizable words. Her left side is paralyzed and she doesn't seem to know we are there. I do not know what to do. Also my Dad has dementia and a colostomy and my Mom and I take care of him so I have to go and feed him 3 meals a day and get him ready for bed and all I want to do is crawl into a ball and cry. But I am trying so hard to keep it together. Please keep my Mom in your prayers she is a very special person who lived for her family and to help others.

| Oh, I'm so sorry that this happened to your mom and your family. I'll send up prayers for all of you. Since it's so early in the game, perhaps your mom will be able to recover her speech and some of the use of her arms and legs. Don't want to give you false hope, but medicine is able to do so much now. Let's hope and pray for that. |

| i understand exactly how you feel this happened to my grandma! She had a stroke around thanksgiving of 2005 she was paralyzed on her right side and had a hard time speaking at first she eventually began to speak better Since she has had more than one and other problems occured she has been bed ridden since then! She can no longer speak at all but still knows we're there and answers by blinking if she understands! It is a veryyy verryy sad thing to see ... right now she is in ICU because she is having a hard time breathing! i will pray for your mom! Good Luck with everything and just keep praying and think positive! She prolly understands you so keep talking to her!

| Patti I am so sorry to hear about your Mom. My Dad has Parkinson's disease and the beginnings of dementia so I do know some of what you're dealing with. I will keep you in my prayers. Maybe you need to take some time and curl up into that ball and cry...it can be good for you...take some 'me' time even if it's only a minute or two...you need it! I'll be praying for you to have the strength and faith to get you through this. Here's a big hug for you ...Teri |

| I'm so sorry. Here's hoping your Mom fully recovers....they've made some wonderful advances in the treatment of strokes and I've heard quite a few stories where all their paralysis is reversed. |
