| Coats for Cubs: Donate Your Old Furs to Wildlife I have been beyond disgusted lately about the 'FUR' industry. This must be stopped!!!! I am writing this thread because there was 'once' a time - long ago, when I was young and my mind was not as open as it is now. I was 'once' into fur coats. Please mind you that I was very young and stupid, yes, I will admit I was stupid. Anyway, I have a few 'fur' items, that I NO LONGER WANT - EVER!!!! But, I just didn't know what to do with them??? I didn't want to give them away, no way do I want someone else 'supporting' this. I definatley do not want to keep them, it makes me sick knowing how stupid I was to support any 'fur' items... So, I have found the place: http://www.hsus.org/furfree/campaigns/c4c/index.html I am donating ALL my fur items to the HUmane Society who will make surrogate mothers to orphaned animals out of fur itmes!!! THIS IS THE BEST NEWS I'VE FOUND RELATING TO FUR!!! *** Note: Here is the link to an actual store that is excepting donations of fur items and they will send them to the Huname Society: http://www.buffaloexchange.com/locations.php |

| That's an awesome idea! I don't have any real fur to donate, I only buy faux fur. Don't call yourself stupid over it, you were just uninformed. People usually hear of fur and they think of "glamorous, rich, classy, etc"...they don't talk about how your fur coat was once alive.

| How sweet of you. But I really don't mind calling myself stupid, it is the least that I can do, I am just plain embarrassed of myself, for my past 'fur' purchases and lack of knowledge. ...But I am now ON TRACK |

| Aw,. but you can't be embarrased if you didn't know better! I'm sure everyone on here can name a ton of things that they used to think, and now their all "what was I thinking". I remember when I worked at Aldo there was a pair of white stilletto boots w/ rabbitt fur, and I wanted them soo bad! I never got them, and now I'm glad I didn't because it would've been a waste of $150 (my discounted price). At the time I was just thinking of how hot the boots were, but now I think they would've been hotter if it was faux

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | GOOD for you !! That's a really nice way to help animals and not wear real fur.... but you, me & millions of other people had no idea what the fur trade involves so you can't call yourself stupid. I have a story just like RaeRae a few years back my husband almost bought me some wicked expensive leopard boots. I couldn't justify the price at the time and the fact that they were real....( I admit that did bother me even then) but now, I could never wear them ....so turning them down was a good thing. That's one of the benefits of the net - info is so easlily accessed now - we know many things we didn't back in the days of no computers... |
