Donating YT 30K Club Member | Trying not to panic But Maya my pom started yesterday with not eating (very unusual for her) and diahrrea like 5 -6 times since yeterday vomited bile once,. Finally got meds in her from previous diahrrea episode. Cali wouldn't eat this morning and just threw up. Got a little of her mediciene down her from previous illness. Pixie has loose stools and is making a weird nosie with her mouth like a samcking sound on and off. I am trying not to rush them all in as it seems to be something they have all come down with. Pixie was at the vet last Friday for vomiting a lot. They gave her a shot and hydrated her and told me to give her hamburger and rice. So they all have been eating a little hamburger mixed with regular food. The only common food they are eating besides the hamburger is the kibble the Breeder gave me for Pixie, Which is Sensible Choice by Royal Canin. My question is I have been frying up hamburger meat and really draining ans soaking the grease off of it. Should I do that again or boil or mocrowave it. It just looks so horrible boiled and I'm not sure they will eat it. Also has anyone had that where 2 or more dogs have gotten sick at the same time? I really want to try and avoid the vet if I possibly can. Maya seems a little better today. Help please.

| Hi Patti...I wish your girls were feeling better. I don't have any experience with more than one getting sick at the same time but do you think maybe the hamburger has too much fat in it? Also, maybe you should cut out the kibble altogether and feed chicken and rice for a couple of days...that seems to be the 'norm' I've seen here on YT. If your other 2 aren't used to that kibble it may be too rich for them and if none of them are used to hamburger it may be too fatty/rich also. I've never heard of recommending hamburger for a sick dog...did your vet say why? Was Pixie tested for coccidia? I hope it's something simple and they'll be better soon. |

| I wonder if something is wrong with the food you are feeding them. It is very strange to have 3 of them with diahrea. One time my two both had it and I had to take them to he vet. He had me give them meds and fast them for a short bit

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Mine are use to hamburger but I did pick up the kibble as it is a puppy kibble and as you say may be too rich for them. I am hoping that with the meds that they will get better soon. I am not so worried about Maya as she is 11 lbs and has had many stomach issues that clear up pretty quick. Maya cannot tolerate chicken Cali can . I think I will try some chicken for her.Cali may need to go in if I can't get her to eat by tonight. Pixie I am still watching. Pixie had a fecal test last week and was negative. I think the Kibble may be the answer. Thanks for the quick replies.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I'm sorry they're sick and what about Chicken ?? My girls get the runs when I sneak them bites of hamburger but chicken never causes that....there may be too much fat in the hamburger ?? Having ONE sick dog is hard - but THREE sick dogs ? Poor babies - I hope they feel better soon |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Well since was able to get Maya to take a pill in her food and got one down Cali they both seem better. Maya is eating good and hasn't had diahrrea since early morning and Cali wanted to eat lunch and hasn't thrown up again. Pixie is still making that weird noise occassionally but is running around llooking for trouble. Hopefully it was the puppy kibble.
