Donating YT 2000 Club Member | Thread Hijacked to another forum I learned this weekend that anything you say or do on a forum can be used against you. A thread from this forum was copied and pasted into another forum's website for discussion. However, this is a locked forum that limits who views their forum. What do you Yt'ers think about this? Is it ethical? How would you handle this if it was your thread? |

| Hey! Maybe they will learn something! Maybe they are "highjacking" our threads cuz they can't think of what to say on their own, or can't find the answers they need. Go ahead and steal mine!

| I think it's rude of them to take something from another forum for theirs, especially since you can't see what's being discussed. |

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Yeah, I would think it's unethical at the least. Stealing an entire thread.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Let's just say it can happen to anyone & has happened to me - IF what we say or do is here is honest and upfront - - then we really don't have anything to worry about .......but the net is like that - stuff gets copied. I belong to a small site that has rules against this and it's really nice because it prevents this kind of thing from happening. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | ps. I wanted to add - IF a forum is private - then people should NOT be copying |

| I think it all depends on what the Thread is about, alot of people crosspost threads, I have done it my self. I would never take someones person info from one thread and paste to another forum , But I have shared certin things with others. Like The YT Railroad thread, I wanted people to see how wonder the people here are and posted about Gwen and all the great members here did for her. and The Thread on 26 news on Mills That was posted and they said please crosspost. I have shared poems and such too. But I think everyone knows what is posted on here can be seen by Guest nonmembers so you have to be careful in posting your personal info. This is the internet. |

| Well, I agree they should get their own thread, but... we all have to realize that this is a PUBLIC forum and anything we post is out there for anyone to read, copy, paste, etc... just don't give out personal info!

| Well, I don't know exactly what we are talking about but I do know we should never put anything on the internet that we are not willing to put on a billboard in front of our house |
