Default Hubby Lost His Job!!

yesterday hubby came home from work and said he had been laid off due to the reserve where his companies rigs are located have been kicked out of the reserve due to their accident recordables. but what makes me mad is they kept on a floor hand who had no incidents, well because hes only been there 3 months incidents are also called write ups, which my hubby has one, he refused to lock out a pump improperly. so they wrote him up, hes been there 4 years and has ll his trainig, but they keep on a floor hand who has no experience but his 3 months but because he doesnt have an incident they keep him, so now we are basiclly stuck, i am tryingn to get out of work earliy to apply at the welfare office but they are prudes here. they dont rally care about these things, they just sit in here and get paid salary pay, while i do all their dirty work and i get paid 10 and hour. i bet mcdonalds people get paid more than me. i mean 10 an hour for administration, uhhhhh we are not going to make it, my husband has been out all day so far looking for a job. i mean he tattoos but tattooing isnt bringing in 4500 a month. but hell get another job but he will start from the bottom up basically. its uhhh why this week why this month, i mean this year has been hell and then this last month has been hell and now its not going away, and we dont get paid for a week and then that week will only have 4 days work on it, which is about 800 dollars maybe but before taxes. but the welfare office gives you a hard time, i want to apply today but you drop off your application today and get called back another day but i cant do that cause they only accept 1-4 o clock i would have to lose wages and take off 2 or more days to getthere on time. uhh anyway im losing my mind. and i needed to go grocery shopping but now i have to use my check to pay the bills, and my check is only 1000 a month, uhh sorry for my ranting but you guys are the only ones who really care bedies my mom who said she would help some but they arent the richest people in the world, they are struggling themselves. thanks guys for reading this.

Hon, it sounds like you need a major hug! Can your hubby apply for unemployment benefits? I'm sorry this has happened. This time of year can be a rough time for a lot of people. Take care and let us know if he can find anything promising.

I'm sorry Make sure that he applies for unemployment right away, they only pay from the date you apply, not from the date you lost employment.

Don't worry, he'll find something! Hang in there, prayers on the way

Ahhhhhhhh baby girl take a DEEP BREATH!

You ever heard that saying "What doesnt kill you will make you stronger?"

My husband has been in the same business, same job (changed hands a few times) for 30 yrs. He is a steadfast honorable person.
But lately he hasnt been happy, there have been bad times, but he never talked of leaving he does now. He is a big asset to his company, IMO they have negative management. Personality clashes, tearing down of motivation, cruel words, very little positive. In all these years, it may have got tough, but the working people helped one another and tried to look for the positive. In times of trouble just one kind word or action can make all the difference.
I do beleive things happen for a reason, and where one door closes another opens, so although things seem bleak now, they can work out fine.
Remember that.

they are and they arent, the only reason he got laid off is because you know elk hills, out on 119 taft highway the reserve well nabors my husbands company is out on the hill they call it and they were evaluated and audited and the hill didnt like their performance record, so they lost their lease to work and drill on the hill which resulted in those rigs going down till they can either renew thier lease or find another spot to drill, so for now hes down and out, they said they should call him in about a week, but he cant wait that long, so hes out looking for another job and they have all told him it will be at least a 2 week hiring process, but by the time 2 weeks is here i will have bills that need to be paid and no money to pay them, i get paid but only 500 dollars, that wont make the dent in them, but im hoping for the best.

can't you apply for welfare over the phone or online... my co worker does it that way, I don't know if it depends on your state but you might want to try... good luck and just think positive!

i applied yesterday and they basically told me that since i had no immediate need for assitance i would have to come to another appt, that will take up to 2 hours and i cant leave work for that amount of time i need to work all i can,

and then i had to bring my property tax records, vehicle regist, taxes from the last 3 years, and since my son isnt my husbands and his dad isnt paying child support they are going to contact the da over him which we have a court order that states he doesnt have to pay because paying his support woud put him at an impoverished level, and they want my sons dad ss # , driver license, his vehicle desrip. with licese plaet number, his arrest record, etc i mean for about 1 month maybe 2 of assistance, its ridiculous, they said it would take a month to even get any assistance if i quilify i mean in a month we will be starving, we were to go shopping today since i get paid, but im afraid to im scraed to spend any money, i cant even go shopping now what makes them think that ill be ok for a month, these days and times makes me sick, no body cares any more,

i dont know what to do, my stomach hurts and it makes me wanna puke, i cant beleive the a state would fail you like that.

I'm sorry you and your family are having such a hard time. I know this won't help your situation, but we have all been there and when you think things are as bad as they can get, you just have to pull up your bootstraps and make the best of it. When one door closes, another opens. Have your husband apply for unemployment, check into any assistance programs like emergency fuel, food stamps, anything. Hold you head high and know that things will turn around. Be strong, sweetie, no matter how hard it is. Hugs to both of you.

I am very sorry you're dealing with this right now. My hubby and I have been in a similar situation, and it's not fun. Thankfully now we are back on a track that I feel comfortable with and I feel like for once we're really going somewhere with our lives. It will get better for you. Since your husband isn't working, why can't he do the applying for welfare so you don't have to miss work? You should also check into other government benefits for low income households. If you don't qualify for welfare, there might be other things you qualify for that will help you in other areas (energy assistance, etc.). Hugs to you, and I hope this blows over soon.

Default maybe this will help

I don't mean to insult your pride in anyway, but you can check with your local church who will allow you access to their food bank. I have used it for my niece who was living on next to nothing to eat. They are very discrete and will reach out with loving arms. It is tough going through the valleys of life. I empathize with your situation and hope you see some light at the end of the tunnel soon. All my best to you and your hubby.
