| I think I would pay the 100.00 and have it done by someone who knows what they are doing. My son-n law installed Windows XP over a system with ME on it and had several drivers that needed to be reconfigured an dhe ended up paying someone to straighten it all out for him. Or have you tried talking to the computer teacher at the school where you bought it from to get the info to get into the program. Maybe they could reset it to factory specs for you with a recovery disc and then reload the XP program.

| yeah thats what i was told but it has windows xp on it now, so they said reinstalling windows xp shouldnt give you any problems since it has allready been installed on it. but the original code thats on the bottom is millenium edition, but some time between when they first got it and now someone installed windows xp on it and they didnt put their auth code on the bottom but since it was a school most likely they used the xp version that can be installed on many computers instead of just one. but either way ill end up taking it in so i might as well just do it. i am just trying to figure out some things before i give in and pay 120 dollars times 2. thats crazy. thanks though

| I'd take it back to the school and either get the password, or have them remove it or change it. Why would they sell computers that cannot be used. |

| did you explain to them that this one slipped thru the crack. because it still has their passwords on it which makes it totally useless to the new user?
