Default we have had 275 or more Rescues /some with pics

Me and Hubby was talking about how many rescues we have took in over the years, I always say about 60 or more. Hubby said No there was way more then that so we started going through the pictures and started naming the ones we didn't have pictures of WOW there was a lot. Some was dropped dumped on the road some was just homeless and others we got from the pound. while others needed surgery or treated for one thing or another. shots, worms, lice, infested in fleas and ticks ringworm, one had a dead eye that was out of socket and needed removed some had to be put under while the others wear treated cleaned, groomed and fattened up and rehomed.one needed pins put in its hip one had broken leg,one had nerve damage and cruched back.one had a collar inbedded in its neck. one had a hairlip some had infections, ear mites. and there were so many Dogs, 60 or more cats 4 birds, squirrels, 2 raccoons, 4-6 rabbits, 4 opossums 1 fox, 3 mice, 60 hamsters, 2 gerbils, 3 chickens,1 ferret ,2 ginnypigs, 1 pigs, horses 1 but was not ours but helped feed it and it was on our land.but owners would not take care of it, a friend has it and we might be getting it back. 50 mix dogs and cats that we rehomed that we found homes for but did not bring to our home .some was people that moved and left most of them behind even mothers with pup and or kittens. Hubby went hunting one cold winter and found 3 pups about 3-4 months old living in a drain hole in the ground,No close houses for miles. we feed for over a week trying to get them to come out and it took about a week before they trusted us enough to crawl out of the drain, Hunters took them home so we didnt have to rehome those 3. Theres two cats pic below my daughter took in and still has. and theres a few that we ended up keeping.Theres a lot of animals thru the years and a lot of stories behind each one, would take me for ever to write. lol
2 Basset hounds
4 Beagles with 7 pups
1 collie
14 Boxer mix
1 Bull terrier
1 Australian cattle dog
2 American Eskimo
2 chows
3 Chihuahua
2 dash hounds
1 Dalmation
4 Doberman pinchers
2 Labradors
1 miniature schnauzer
4 Pekingese
1 pug
2 poodles
1 rottweiler
4 saint Bernard pups
4 pittbulls
1 Yorkie/malt mix that we kept
1 Husky
17 plus mix's

60 plus cats and kittens
and I'm sure theres so many that we have just forgot.and theres so many we don't have pictures of.BUt wanted to share some of the pictures I do have. I wished I documented it all and made some kind of scrapbook on all of them. I told hubby with that many rescues we will give our self a rescue name for my documents im now starting . lol So we are calling it D&L Rescues. He said no wonder were broke. lol But we wouldnt of changed it. It warms the heart to know these little ones FINALLY have some one to love and care for them.

Oh I never even added the stray drop off cats that has had 2 more litters the last two years and I had found homes for those too. so I could add another 14 to it and I bet theres some me and hubby didnt think of but will pop it our heads later. That would make it 289 oh and the one my daughter found in the parking lot at work , we got it and found it a home too. 290. lol

Awww!! If you were closer I would've adopted the Siamese/Himalayan kitten and an American Eskie. That is something I would LOVE to do...take unwanted babies in and find them loving homes...but hubby won't allow alot. I have taken in a few and rehomed them. I know what you are talking about the feeding etc, gets expensive at times...but so rewarding!!! I applaude all your hard work and your family's love for those babies!

The two of you must have the biggest hearts ever!
Bless both of you for all the loving care you have given so many of
God's creatures who needed it. Just look at all those babies who needed
someone to care for them and make their pain go away. The two of
you are very special indeed.

The world is a better place because of people like you and your husband. What an awesome thing you are doing for all those poor creatures who would have probably died in pain if it hadn't been for you. Have you talked to any local or even national business that might be willing to donate food or supplies to you. So much stuff gets thrown away when there are uses for it. Or maybe get a non-profit business license. That might save you some in the things you do have to purchase. I commend you for what you are doing. I wish I had the resources, time, and room to do that. God Bless you both.

Thanks everyone, NO we never set out to do this. lol Its just we cant seem to say no. some of these animals paople would ask us to take in and some we would just see dumpped on the road , theres no way we could just drive by and keep driving. No we would stop for each one, But just to see the love in their eyes , They know you did this for them and their eyes show it. Some of these animals are still around and we see them them quite often, some was placed in homes and the new owners would move and we would lose touch , some have died now, but we know we did what we could and madetheir lives a little better. some we took in our selfs and we still have one of them. My daughter still has the 2 kissing cats that our brothers. My Aunt still has one of the dogs also. My friemd still has the Husky that was covered in lice, That was the only reason that poor little doggy was dumped on a country road ,out on a busy Route. Hes a beautiful dog now and is 6 years old. I was on my way to work when I found him, took him to work with me had the guard keep him in his guard shack until noon and left early from work to care for him. The red doberman was 2 years old when we took her in ,lived 13 years then had a heart attack. we never made a bussiness of it or anything so we asked for no help . it just seemed like we would help one out and when that one was rehomed there would be another then another so we pretty much did this all our lives.I think people know this and thats why we get so many drop offs, They know we will take them in. and its so sad. and people like this make me so mad. what we dont get the dog pound dose. A man just found a garbage bag on the side of the road with a whole litter of puppies in it, They are now at the dog pound looking for homes. I have a bad arm and a very bad back and I cant get around like I use to, Hubby works so many hours now that I cant work , so we dont take in animals like we use to. But we still try and do what we can for them. I think thats why it hurt so bad when I changed my mind about taking Gwen cause I know if I did she would be here with us forever and like Hubby said can I give her the 100% she needs. I still regret not taking her in. But it helps to know that YT has found her a wonderful home.
