| Starting the quit smoking pill today My husband and I are starting the new pill to quit smoking today. I believe it is called Chatix. It cost $125 but has been highly recommended by both of his doctors. They tell us that some people quit in as little as 4 days!!!. Plus it helps with losing weight too. I hated to part with that much money but if it works it is so worth it. |

| Thanks. Both doctors said that they have had patients that have had success with this. My husband is down to less than a pack a day now so hopefully it will be easy for him. Me on the other hand since my wreck have smoked way too much. Hopefully this will work. I will try to post every couple of days on how we are doing. |

| Good for you both!! I wish I had the willpower to just try. I would be interested in your results also. My Patrick doesn't smoke and I don't smoke around him but I still know it isn't in my best interest either! I will be pulling for you both!!

| My husband and I stopped smoking 4 years ago. My husband took Zyban. It's a mild extended release antidepressant. I always quit smoking when I had my children, but always started back up again because my husband wouldn't try to quit. This drug was amazing for him. It took all the anxiety away which was a major problem for him because he had a very stressful job. I think his doctor told him that 1 out of 5 people quit after taking Zyban. It was the hardest thing I've ever done, but well worth it now. Good Luck |

| I think insuance companies need to start covering these meds.If they help people in quiting,it will benifit them in the long run.Makes no sense to me. V try coming to California where they are 4+. I quit three years ago last August ,I used commit lozenges. |

| Good luck with all of you who are taking that step to quit smoking! That is wonderful! We have always been a smoke free family! Yay for us! I just hope my daughter is the same when she grows up! My grandfather smoked since he was 11 - they grew their own tobacco and dried it, etc. When he died several years back of cancer, we all thought it would have lung cancer, but he didn't, the doctors said his lungs were really good!!! Isn't that strange???!!! (he died from prostate cancer). Crazy how he could have smoked for all those years, and die at the age of 90 w/ good lungs! Regrading the insurance - I agree! I think insurance should atleast help pay for the stop smoking and even weight loss pills/plans! But, I guess, if they did, the drug companies wouldn't be making money if everyone lost their weight and quit smoking.........??!! Crazy, Crazy!
