BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | Didn't know who else to ask... 1st off I need your prayers, my dad has an infection in his middle finger and it has gone to the bone. 2 days ago I took him to a Orthopedic doctor where he performed surgery on his finger, I stayed in the room with him and was by his side, he was so scared and very nervous. They had to take off his finger nail and get to the bone and scrape off the infection that was on the bone. He has to go back everyday for 1 week to have the bandage changed and the finger cleaned. He still is not out of the woods, he may lose his finger. But to top it all off he is on medication for high blood pressure and his blood pressure has been sky high. it got 198/103 was the highest. I love my parents to death, but sometimes the decisions they make just astond me. They both smoke without care. My dad drinks beer (not since his finger problem), he chews. They just dont seem to care about their health at all. I have tried and tried to talk to them but it does no good and just ends up causing a fight and I deal with anxiety as it is, so last night I was just a wreck, I tried to tell them they have to get his blood pressure under control but they didnt seem to concerned. I ended up walking out crying and said "I hope I see you tomorrow" It just hurts me so much, I've always been a daddy's girl and I dont know what I would do or do when I lose him, I know were never ready to lose a parent, but I just dont think I could handle it. I have always been so close to both my parents, they have done so many wonderful things for me in my life. They treat my kids so well and love them dearly and would do anything and everything for them and me. But what I want most is them to be in good health so they can live long enough to watch their granddaughters marry and have children. But I dont see it happening if they continue these bad habits. Well my question was suppose to be about life insurance, I know I hate the thought of even thinking about this, but it really needs to be done. But I have no idea who to talk to about it, the only people I can talk to about this is you guys. I just dont know what to do. p.s. what caused his infection in his finger was him biting his nails, so I suggest to anyone who has this nasty habit, to do your best to break it. |

| What is the question? Life insurance on whom and for whom? Or how to cash it in or what?

| Missy...getting life insurance on them at there age and with them smoking will run them a ton!!!!!!!! I know my boss just took out some more life insurance on him and he doesn't smoke and it cost him $237.00 a month. He had to go through the questionaire, blood drawl, and a physcial. I know when I got mine and Dan got his we had to do the same thing. They check you for all sorts of thing. Its better if you get it when you are young. Mine and Dans was $204.00 a year for $100,000. and then that includes $10,000 on each kid too. Dan has three different policies. Two are at work. I had never had any and thought it was wise. I still need to do a will too. I hate the tought of that but when you have kids you should. It all just seem so morbid. My problem is in my will if something happened to me and Dan, I wouldnt want my kids to go to any of my family memembers.....lol |

| I am a licensed insurance agent in Ohio. Depending on your parents medical history, you may not be able to get insurance for them, you will be surcharged for the smoking and medical issues. My father in law is 80, Ilast year I wrote him a policy for $10,000, just for burial expenses. He smokes, but has no past medical problems, he has to pay $130 a month. I would call your insurance agent that you or your parents have auto insurance through and see if they can help you, by either giving you a quote, or referring you to somebody else. You will need to know their date of birth, all medical history, surgeries, diagnoses, etc. You will also need a list of medication they take, what it is for and how much. Also weight and height. Hope this helps!! |
