| 20/20 story on Nigerian Scams Did anyone else see the 20/20 story on Nigerian Scammers.. Apparently their main source of income is from scamming Americans. There are a lot of very influential Americans that have fallen victims to the scams, and one government official, who is now doing time for going in with the scammers. After he had lost a fortune to them, he decided to join them. They have even written a law making it illegal to obtain money under false pretenses, and the first person they arrested under that law was the police chief, who had been taking bribes from the scammers. Makes all of us look like geniuses. |

| A few years ago, I knew someone that fell for one of these scams. He was Vice President of Finance for a business in Canada and had sent large sums of money before realizing what had really happened and he actually committed suicide over it. Sad but totally true. I just wish more people would think twice and consider that if it sounds too good to be true.....it probably is.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | oh wow - I guess when people have lots of money they must be always thinking to make more cause no one I know would fall for those scams - they're UNREAL - I got them all the time back when my husbands business was active ....some are so over the top with really large amounts of money involved I just can't see it - but I guess they must be working or the scammers would never be doing it this long - it's been going on years now. I can't believe they can't shut them down when they get reported - you'd think with our technology today they could do a better job of nailing them |

I've received many emails about a person with my same last name being killed in a plane crash leaving millions of dollars unclaimed. But i've never fallen for them. I agree I think people who have money are controled by greed and no matter how much they have, they want more. Those people deserve to be scammed. | |

| I watched it also and found it interesting, but, let's be real folks. I didn't feel any pity for the people who fell for it. To send money once is one thing, but to continue sending it is insane. Reminded me of the old saying - "Has more money than brains." |
