| They only smell for a short while and then after they've hung for awhile and been through a few showers, I think it goes away.

| I always buy fabric liners. They are usually called "hotel" liners. I got my last one at Bed Bath & Beyond.

| http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/prod...12176244&RN=12 It comes in like 10 colors too. I thought I hated shower curtains until I got a shower with glass doors that are a pain to clean. It's nice to be able to just throw them away once in a while and buy a new one.

| No smell that I remember, except for like the starchy smell of new fabric. I am pretty sure they are machine washable too so you can just wash it. Also, I don't remember the packages being sealed - so you could open it first and check.
