| Help! Christmas Gift for a Girl - Age 11!!! ugh!!! It's getting tougher and tougher to shop for my neice Dhalys!!! She is 11 years old and is just reaching that age where she is wanting to select her own clothe, music and basically a just a TWEEN! I don't want to be the "Aunt that gives Lame Gifts". BUT... I want to give her something cool and unique. No Gift Cards or Cash. Ideas please! She is a Girly~Girl with a strict dresscode mom. Mom does not allow skits unless she wears shorts, nothing too grown-up. She loves music and gymnastics.

| We have this place called Artopia. Basically you get to paint your own ceramics. You could go with her one time and paint something?

| What kind of price limit do you have set for her gift? My niece/god daughter at that age always wanted gift cards for xmas to her favorite stores. So that is what I would I get her along with a few lil gifts like dvd's or bath and body lotions. |

| A bead kit to make Jewlery is always a hit with young girly girls. Craft supplies if she likes art work well... I love to get kids a nice sketch book and drawing pencils and the gum erasers... But that only works if they like that kind of stuff. Sculpy clay is fun, all ages like to play with that and it bakes in the oven. Just don't over bake it cause if turns toxic!!! I bake it 10 min... Movie passes are good... i always give at least two so they can bring a friend! they like all kinds of hand cream, face cream, smelly lotions and stuff to do nails. Bath and body works anything works for that age!

| I agree with the lotions and stuff and the movie passes. Those are good. Clothes are always good. DVD's, CD's, I know, not unique, but they like them still the same. Is she in to anything like science, astronomy? You could have a star named after her. Start a charm braclet for her and every year give her a new charm, maybe to do with something relevant between you 2 or special to her. A yorkie!!!! LOL I'll keep thinking.

| Well, I'd have to say that movie passes and gift cards from Music stores/book stores is the perfect thing, but if you want to avoid the 'gift card' plain gift... for a friend's daughter I gave a popcorn bowl filled with free dvd rentals, crystal light packets, water bottles, microwave popcorn, popcorn seasoning, fun candies, nice little blanket for snuggling (Walmart has 'em). I wrapped it in basket cellophane and a big bow. You could let your imagination run wild and include some fun things for 11 yr old girls that they could use on a 'movie night'. You could give a music lover a basket with cd gift cards and all kinds of fun things girls love (nail polish, bubble bath, etc). I truly find the gift cards are LOVED by my teenagers 'cause they can pick out the music/books they enjoy. They don't find them impersonal at all. The baskets can be fun to do up, though |

| I have an 11 year old cousin as well I think I'm goign with one of thos e"NOW!" cds, or maybe the christmas NOW cd. it's just a compilation of all the "cool" music from the year or whatever, I'm not "cool" enough to know what that music is or I'd tell you lol. Also does her mom let her wear nail polish? If so you could give her a little certificate for a manicure! So she can be pampered and such, I'm sure she'd love that. I also suggest all kinds of girly things. Like a basket filled with popcorn bags, nailpolish, a tween movie (if you want some names I can help ya out), maybe some hair curlers! Tryt o think of things that you enjoy and then think of away to make them younger, at 11 she wants to feel 25 lol |

| I have a daughter who just turned 13. She too is very much the girly girl. If you have a Limited Too in your area, you can go in there with her sizes and they will pick out a very stylish outfit. They have adorable clothes and all the girls love them. Also when Lauryn was that age I bought her a camera, film and a scrapbook set and she LOVED it. Target has some really cute 35 mm camera that are really girly, and not expensive. Walmart has some cute scrapbooking sets that aren't real expensive but good ones. My daughter loves art stuff so this was just perfect. Plus I had her sometimes spend her allowance to get the film processed so that she realized the value of a dollar - lol Or the have so much cool stuff out for a girls room. Not sure how her room is but one of those round fuzzy chairs (Target) or a Caboodle filled with nail polish, stickers for your nails, lotion, lip gloss, jewelry, etc. If she likes to read.. Chicken Soup for a Pre-Teen book is really good. It has stories of how to deal with your friends, parents, boys, etc. (my daugher has it and read it in two days) Just a couple of ideas... have fun! |

| Except for hubby, son and brother i have to buy for 6 girls! ages 16, 15, 9, two 8 year olds, and a 6 year old! Whew! my sisters who are 9 and 8 are into music big time! They are also always wanting clothes, movies, stuff like that, The first thing i thought of when i seen the age is a i-pod or a mp3 player, the mp3 are cheaper from what i have seen, also surf the net for top gifts for pre teens/teens. I also found this site where you put in their personality (answer a few questions) and they give you gift ideas, I did it and it is pretty cool hope this helps! http://www.gifts.com/finder

| My Kate just turned 11... For her 10th birthday we bought her the iPod shuffle.. and I told her that if I saw her using it enough I would get her a "real" iPod.... With the shuffle you cant pick the songs you want to hear.. it will play your songs in the order you put them in or randomly.. "shuffle"ed Well... Everyone else had the "Better" ones... Well... I sold her shuffle and put in the few bucks and ordered her an iPod Nano this year!!! And ordering it on the website allowed me to customize it!!! I had engraved on the back for free... Happy 11th Kate We Love You You could think of something really cool to engrave on the back!!! They are only 149.00 and she will use it EVERY DAY! Kate uses it on her walk to school EVERY morning!!! Need I remind everyone... we live three houses away from the school!!! She thinks she is soooo all that! But she loves it!! And she'll be using it for years to come.. it will take her years to fill it!!! And you can pick some cool colors!! And we had it in like 4 days! Shipping was insanely fast!!! You'd be the aunt that "Rocked!" Pun Intended!!

| Careful Kathryn... my kids are in High School, but they've each had one stolen out of their bags. Even though I said not to take them to school.
