| What a horrible day for me! =( It's been such an awful day. I had to find somewhere to vent and I knew someone here would atleast understand! Let me ask you .. do you think this is WRONG of the company to do this.. I went to an interview about 3 weeks ago for a web design job paying $35,000 a year and insurance is paid for on their behalf. The interview was 2 hours long and it went great. Their HR Dept. sent me an e-mail later that day with an offer attachment to it. I read over and was so excited! Her e-mail stated that she sent out a hard copy via Fed Ex for me to sign and bring in Monday. Monday, I bring it in and she told me she didn't get the fax from me. I asked her "WHAT FAX??" and she said she stated at the bottom of the offer letter with a little asterick that I needed to fax it to her ASAP before the offer expires that Friday!! She told me there would be a way around it and that she will call me and most likely I would start Wednesday. I waited and waited that week for her call and she didn't call me! I e-mailed her and left her a message on her phone. She didn't respond. Thursday afternoon, she finally picks up my call after 5-6 tries and says that she DID receive my e-mail and my VM but didn't apologize for not responding. She says things are going well and I will most likely start Monday and she'll give me a call late Friday afternoon. No phone call!! At the beginning of this week, I called her again.. no pickup. After SO many tries, I call her back yesterday and she stated that she has sent out a letter. I was excited because I thought the letter contained my start date and shift times. I received the letter today stating in a nutshell "Thanks for your inquiry at our company but unfortunately, you did not turn in the offer letter in time and the offer has expired. We will keep your resume on hand and contact you if there are any positions available that fit your criteria"!!!!!! I was heartbroken. I've been depressed all day. ..and they don't even have my resume because they gave it back to me! I think that is SOOOO unprofessional of her to do that! All this time, she led me to believe I would start the job only to find out that "the offer expired"! I took her TWO weeks to, in her words, "process my papers". I called the guy that interviewed me this morning when I found out and he said that the company has "had a change in direction" with what they're looking for! I put down another job offer because she led me to believe I would get this job! Being 20 years old, this would have been the job to start off my career! I'm so super upset! AHHHHH! Do you guys think it was wrong of her to do that? |

| YES. I would be quite upset.. see what happens with all this Technolgy!! How about just calling,," you got the job, start date , etc" All that mumbo jumbo is CRAZY!! And look where it got everyone! So sorry! Keep looking, obviously wasn't meant to be,,, and then think would you really want to work for a company that handles things in that kind of manner!

| sorry to hear things aren't going to well for you. i agree that was unprofessional on her part. if you didn't have the job she could have just told you instead of giving you the run around. keep your head up, you'll find a job. |

| Ugh! I'm so sorry. Yes, it sounds to me like she was totally in the wrong. If nothing else, she should have told you the second she knew you were no longer going to be hired I hope something else great comes along for yoU!

| she was very unprofessional , sounds a bit shady ,I cant belive that she lead you on like that she should have been straight forward with you instead of letting you think you had the job.

| Im definatly your general optomistic. So hope this helps. "Would you really want to work for a company that does business like this?" Think about it. Seems to me like they cant do things promply, or even right for that matter. Its their loss not yours. And coming from an IT background, if your into web design you can get much better than that and even work right from your home. |

| I'm so sorry to hear of the roller coaster ride you've been on! *HUGGGGS* With the way they treated you, it is probably a blessing in disguise that you didn't get that job! They say things happen for a reason...I hope a better job comes your way soon! Best wishes! |

| If you had a complete "paper trail" of everything that happened you could persue it further. But, like everyone said, you really are better off not to be associated with a company like that! I'm sure there are much bigger fish and more to your liking! Keep your chin up ... I believe too that all things happen for a reason!

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | You sure got a bad deal with this company ...it sounds like there was no personal feelings and it was all about the RULES....but it will help you in the future and you can at least know it will never happen again - It's a hard lesson but that's how we learn - GOOD Luck - there's a better job waiting for you out there ... |
