I Love Thor Donating Member | $$ Question-sitter I'm babysitting two girls this weekend while thier parents are out of town. They are 11 and 13, so self suffcient. Thurday after school (4pm) until tomorrow, Sunday (3pm-ish). I have 9 yrs experience. How much would you pay/how much would be fair to request? |

| Did you discuss anything with the parents before hand? Have you watched the kids before? If so, how much did you charge then?

| Around here, the rate is 35 to 15 dollars per day with a discount for mutiple dogs. For a short stay I would say 15 dollars per day, for a longer stay 10 dollars a day. For two dogs 25 to 20 dollars a day? What ever you feel comfortable with. You call up kennels in your area to find out what they charge then call up a few petsitters, then split the difference. We trade dog sitting with owners of my one of my foster dogs. If you need to get away you could think of making a deal for them to look after your dog in exchange.

Gee, I have no idea either. Do you charge the same $15 an hour after they have gone to the bed for the night? | |

| I am in no way questioning what you charge - we're empty nesters at this house....but....do you realize that for approx 72 hours of babysitting that comes to $1,080? I'm confused |

| I guess you would have to come up with a day rate....and it depends also, are these friends of yours that your sitting for? I would think of the meals you have to prepare and the time you spend with the children. They are at pretty self sufficent ages but I know my kids are that age and can be quite busy and need alot more time than you would think. I myself would probably charge $200 for the weekend...I think...lol Dawn |

I Love Thor Donating Member | Skin kids!! Yes, 1080$$ is a lot of money! I'm not charging for the hour, cause that would be insane...I was thinking $300, but I don't want to be asking too much! I usually charge $10-$12/hr, and I've been babysitting these girls for at least five years, on the occassion... |

BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | I never can take money from people for babysitting, I always feel bad, specially if I know they cant afford it, to me it's a favor and hopefully they would return that favor to me. If you really cant afford it, then help with food is always nice. |
