Default Just out of curiousity

I was just wondering how many different animals if you can remember over the years since you've been out on your own have you had. I was trying to remember all the different pets that we have had over the last 20 years.

Candy-Our first yorkie, she had to be put to sleep because of old age.
2 Cats can't for the life of me remember their names. Gave 1 away it was a siamese(), the other got run over.
2 hamsters the boys had in the same cage definite no-no one ate the other. Gross out. Made me sick. Left for hubby to clean up.
2 Cockatiels - Ally we gave to a friend of ours after my husband had a pituitary tumor removed. Got rid of all birds after that. Jake I gave to my nephew.
Coenure - that was my sisters gave back to her. Loud mouth bird but, loved to take a shower with me.
Parakeet - George that went with Connie, the coenure.
Severe Macaw - Sold he was just so messy. Went to a better home.
Casey - A mixed breed dog. Don't remember what happened to her. I think she took off and never came home.
2 Kittens that the dogs got. Well actually I got one of them it fell asleep on my tire and the rest is history.
Numerous fish.
Bailey - Yorkie #2 got run over the Thanksgiving I was pregnant with Ethan.
Precious - 15 year old Shih Tzu had to have put to sleep(kidney failure)
Jasmine - Great Dane. Gave to a wonderful family, that lived in the country she just barked constantly when they started developing the land behind us. She was miserable Hated to see her go but, it was the best thing for her.
2 Bassetts Hounds - Natasha & Chelsea. Gave one to a man my husband worked with for his daughters. The other a woman my husband worked with. We just didn't have room for them.
Sadie - Our Chocolate lab still have her.
Lizzie - Lab mix. Got out of the fence 2 years ago on Mother's Day and we never found her. Hopefully a wonderful family found her. Hubby drove around a 5 mile radius for an hour or longer and never saw her anywhere.
Maggie - A kerr (hunting dog) my husband gave her to someone that he knew that hunted she was miserable here because my husband doesn't hunt.
Tucker - Shih Tzu we had that died in a terrible accident when he was a puppy.
Mollie - Current Yorkie
Wyatt - Current Yorkie
Hopper - Ethan's parakeet and a few guppies.

Sorry for the long post. I was just curious as to the different pets everyone has had over the years.

Gosh, I didn't realize we had, had so many. I feel bad now. I feel horrible having had all of these pets. This is over a 20 year span.

Default blast from the past..LOL

hard trying to remember them all..but here goes...

A Spitz named snowflake, I was just a kid, but I remember that she would sneeze and then fall over on her side...which of course was hilarious to me, LOL I think she ran away..maybe cuz I laughed at her?

A German Shepard named Lady

A hamster that my mom HATED!

A terrier mix named Ugly..I was a teenager, what can I say?

2 Cats-Whiskers lived 10 years, Little Kitty lived about 16

Numerous fish, which I stopped purchasing after coming home one day to find that my sweet new boxer pup, Sadie, laying on the couch, kind of damp and my 10 gallon fish tank on the floor shattered-

2 Boxers, Sadie and Max both lived about 6 years and both died of cancer

Next dog..of course...a YORKIE!! hopefully in a few months!

great post by the way...nice memories!

WOW you've had a lot of animals....let's see when I was about 3 we had our first pets...
2 parakeets boy and girl. Timothy and Judith. Judith flew away when my godbrother opened the living room window. Then I had my first Cockatiel, also Timothy whom I LOVED! He was my favorite. He talked, said phrases, followed me EVERYWHERE, woke me up in the mornings, protected me, sang to me and got jealous when I had other pets. My mom got me a rabbit and Timothy went in his cage and bit his ears. Then we gave the rabbit away to someone with a lot of land, it was too much work. We've had other parakeets, other Cockatiels, now I have 3, 2 of them I handfed and raised. A dog, cavalier king charles, he died. And now my first Yorkie Oh I've also had fish, and 2 hamsters.

I have Cat who is still around.
Louie is still here.
I had a hedgehog, who I gave to my dad's coworkers's daughter.
That's about it though.

I love animals. I would like to have a bird one day too.

Love Caution - Book following: Confessions of an Irresponsible Pet Owner

This is so hard for me. Memory Lane is sometimes a sad walk filled with lots of regrets. You don't have to point out my shortcomings with some of my past babies, I'm very aware of them.

Tiny Toy Solid Black Poodle - about 3# and I'll never forget him. He's been dead now 30 yrs and I could still cry just thinking of him. Can't tell you his name because it is no longer politically correct but I didn't mean any harm. My dad gave him to me after we were married.

Peke Mix - Roxie developed demodectic mange & had to wear a sweater long before it was fashionable. No children yet so she got lots of attention and good care.

Bandit - beautiful Peke puppy that I only had for a few weeks. I sold her because it hurt me to hear her breathe. I decided that a full blood Pekingnese just wasn't the right pet for me at that time. I regret this time of my life in regards to my pets. I was pretty selfish & self absorbed.

Frosty, lg beautiful gorgeous Samoyed. She was awfully hot in Texas & did large large piles of poop that my toddlers invariably fell down in. Gave her away.

Lhasa Apso, Sissy -wasn't the best mom to her,but I did do better than the 2 previous. She was very good & followed my children everywhere. We all loved her very much and even took her with us on family vacations.

Shih Tzu -not quite as good with the kids- my children kept me so busy I shouldn't have had pets during their early years. Apart from playing with the kids, they basically just got food, water & vaccines from me.

Beautiful Blond Cocker Spaniel still feel guilty because I wasn't the best mom to her. She didn't really want to be with the kids, little nervous of them & I was totally wrapped up in what the kids were doing.

Persian Calico Mix Cat - gorgeous.- Callie- was really my daughter's as she was a little older by now. My daughter still has a ringworm pop up every now & then that is courtesy of sleeping with Callie.

Lg 10# Yorkie with floppy ears - still miss him too.-Pup pup- got him because my son wanted him but as he was older now he lost interest & Pup Pup became mine. I had left him outside when I went to work one morning & as I came in from lunch, he came running to meet me & got ran over by a car. I thought I would die of guilt, it was a long long time before I had another dog.

Without my approval or permission my college age son came home with a wolf puppy that was very very sick. We were working with Texas A & M to try to save her. She was having seizures and was so weak she could hardly stand but I would sit on the floor and she would climb up in my lap and tremble & shake & pass all kinds of body waste. My son was causing us a lot of trouble at the time and didn't like me very much most of the time and I was worried sick about him. Over this little wolf pup though we both held each other & cried our hearts out as she died. I think he forgave me for some things when he saw how hard I tried to save that little pup I hadn't wanted him to bring home. Of course soon after that, he dropped out of college and left home and went to work with some high risk juvenile offenders in NC.
He never lived at home again after that but I think we just had to let each other live our own lives. Sometimes we can become too over involved & controlling in our children's lives even with the best of intentions. Now he is a youth minister in Md.

Black/White Persian cat - Sheba She was an old cat when we took her with us when we evacuated for Hurricane Rita, She hated living in the Fifth Wheel Trailer with my dd, sil, 2 grands, their Yorkie, my husband & I. She was so stressed out through this experience that she died the next day after we returned home.

Present 3# Yorkie that I absolutely adore. My own Little Bit, I take raising her very seriously. She makes me miss my first little toy poodle so bad though.

Next Pet Someday if I live long enough - Tiny Maltese Baby or Rescue

Wow...now this will really make me think.

When I moved in with hubby, he had two cats...Taz and Sylvester, and I had one, Mackeral. All lived to be quite old but eventually had to be put to sleep.

Numerous fish over the years. I had a 20 and a 10 gallon tank set up and raised guppies and various other tropicals for many years.

Beautiful white cat named Misty that we adopted from a friend who didn't have time for her anymore. She ended up getting very ill years later and had to be put to sleep.

Two hamsters...Nick (after the Backstreet Boy) and Splinter (from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles). We Loved those little guys and they were so smart. Their lifespan is 24 months and both lived to be exactly 26months old.

Newts...we had two newts that decided to reproduce and we ended up with many, many newts! lol Apparently they're very difficult to breed and reproduce but we must have done something right!

2 cats named Murphy and Ting. Unfortunately their mom was a feline leuk carrier and we didn't find that out until one cat became anemic at around 8 months and died and the other had to be put on meds...he died on the o.r. table when getting neutered.

Two birds named P.J. and Dobby. I ended up having to give them away after many years to a loving home. We had just too many pets at once and my health wasn't good

An anole named Lou...used to be LuLubelle, but we've since found out that she is a he. Interesting character. We still have him.

A lovely old cat named Bootsie that we adopted from a lady in the neighborhood. She's around 9 years old and just lovely..

dog Nighean...my baby that followed me around everywhere. We rescued her when she was nine months old and I loved that dog with all my heart. She came down with pancreatitis in January at 7 years old and had to be put down. It was the most difficult time. Still am not over it.

A white mouse named Bender. He's a sweetie. Never thought I'd like a mouse, but he is so cute.

Now we have Topher....and he won't be the last dog, that's for sure. Hopefully we'll be getting him a little sister in the spring.

Owning pets has been such a wonderful experience for my family...a real learning experience for my two kids. Both of them are so loving toward any animal and I know that when they have homes of their own they'll fill it with pets.

Thanks for the post....it is nice to take a trip down memory lane!

I didn't even think to mention the animals I had as a kid. We always had Pekes around we use to raise them. We had a rabbit that when it was hungry would go to the fridge and stand up and beg. We had numerous cats. A mutt that my dad named No-Tail but my brother called him Toenail. A German Shepard/Pek Mixed named Bogart that ran off. A crazy Cocker Spaniel named Ginger that would stand outside and bark at her food. A chi/daschund mix that when she got so old she couldn't hear got hit by the train. A Collie I just barley remember.

Of course, we also had fish.

I didn't realize how many animals that we have had over the years.

I've only been out on my own for 2months, but growing up I've had:
1 Afgahn Hound named Heather. She was mainly my moms dog
1 mix named Bubzy. He was my favorite and if I can ever find a mix like him I'll take it in a heartbeat, no matter how old, price or whatever!
3 Boxers; Misty, Bubba, and Gizmo. Misty and Bubba were littermates. We had to get rid of Bubba though because he kept trying to attack other male dogs. Vet said it was because of the spayed female (Misty) so we gave him to a loving home, and as soon as he was away from Misty he got a long great with other male dogs. Misty was a real good dog too. I miss her a lot. We had to put her down at age 9 because all of a sudden, out f noo where she was in tons of pain. She couldn't even drink water (mom had to feed her ice cubes just to keep her hydrated). She was old, and the vet assumed it was probably cancer. My mom had Xrays done on her, had her on doggy downers and pain killers and she still couldn't take the pain. I was about to take out a loan to get her to have surgery, but vet said because of her age surgery probably won't help. So we took her to the rainbow bridge on May 3, 2003. May she rest in peace.
Tons of Fish, but I specifically remember a Lion fish that I loved when I was 3yrs old, an Oscar fish named Oscar, a few beta 2 of which were Phill and Lil, a bubble-eyed goldfish that the other fish ate his eyes, a couple eels, and some Jack Demseys (I think that's what they'r called)
2 hamsters named Shy and Snowball. I didn't know that they were male and female until one day I saw babies and freaked out (I was like 10 and just saw pink things squirming around). They had a total of like 40kids, they kept doing it. One of the babies I kept and named it Shiela, then one day my sister (was 2yrs old at the time) thought the dogs would like to play with the hamster.
1 frog.
1 Guinea Pig named Stitch that I had to give to my sister because I became allergic. It died.

And now....
ROCKY!
