No Longer a Member | Requesting prayer.. I have come here today requesting pray for my Mom. She was released for the hosp. yesterday after forgoing a major bowel resection. During surgery sorosis of the liver was discovered and further tests revealed Hep C. My Mom has never drank or smoked in her life. She has battled Breast Cancer and other diseases in her life along with Diabetes and I figure maybe prolonged exposure to the many meds? She does not know yet, would be just cruel to put this on her right now going thru the bad time that she is and I'm quite sure Daddy spent the night staring at the ceiling. Her specialist whom she is very close to and loves told Dad he wants to see her in 10-14 days, then they will have the "talk" and get her to the appropriate Dr. and discuss the extent and possible treatment. My parents are 75 yrs old. Dad excepts very little help with Mom, says it's his job. I know the old man will take care of her till he has to crawl across the floor to do it. Love stories like these are few and far between. Please keep her on your hearts when you say your prayers tonight, I know we have some powerful prayer warriors around here. The Lord and I are on good speaking terms but heaven knows I've kept him up a night or two in the past. We will know more in two weeks. I know you probably have lot's of people on your list to remember...but this is Mama. Thank you, Denise and Giz |

| mom Unfortunatly Hep C can lie dormant for years and years ther are so many people that have it and never knew, there are so many ways of contracting hep c it is not only drinking as many people thought, I worked with an MD and we did the treatments for hep c you would be surprised at the amount of people and types of people it is now very common to have, good luck to her she sounds like she has great support with her family. |

No Longer a Member | Thank you all for your prayers and support. I was able to sit with Mom today for a little while, she gets tired easy. She looks so fragile, the past few years have not been kind. All I could think of was her post op visit when her dr explains her other problems. This is all so humbling, I have to be strong for my Dad he has always been my rock. |

I had a very dear uncle that contracted Hep C through a blood transfusion during open heart surgery in the early 80's before they started testing the blood. He died in 96 when ethan was just 2 1/2 months old. All the best to your mom, dad & all of your family. Hopefully treatments have came a long way since.
