| Dog food commercials??? Why is is that they only have dog food commercials for low quality food?? I never see dog food commercials for great or holistic dog food. You never see a commercial for Merricks, Innova, Natural Balance, Chicken Soup, etc. Why is this?? You would think they would want to promote these great dog foods and educate people about their product and how great it is for your dog. I would have never tried any of the holistic dog foods I have tried recently as I had no information on them or that they existed. Now if I would have seen a commercial on them, I would have tried them a long time ago. I just can't figure out why we only see poor dog food advertised?!?

| I would assume its the same concept as plastic surgery doctors that advertise. If something is really good, the business gets spread through word of mouth, therefore it's best to avoid plastic surgeons w/ commercials and advertisements. Maybe it's the same with dog food. If it's really good, name spreads through word of mouth. If it's bad though, people won't talk about it, therefore they need to advertise to get the name out there

| I think they just don't have the advertising budgets of IAMS, Purina and the others because those are owned by HUGE companies like Proctor & Gamble, Nestle, etc. Think about it. A bag of "dog chow" is what, $17 and the same sized bag of Canidae would be like $30. BUT - the dog chow is corn and rendered chicken feet and Canidae is whole chicken and lamb - so the cheap food probably costs pennies to make and it's ALL profit. The good brands also won't sell at chain stores. Actually as much as I respect their philosophy it's sad because *most* people won't make the extra effort to buy their dog special food and they just pick it up at the grocery store (or Menards - who would buy dog food at Menards?? but people do) Anyway if the grocery stores actually carried a halfway decent brand I think "regular" people would buy it.
