| I hope she changes her mind. I tried my best. So sad, she is a long time member and it's a shame that an exception is not being made for her.

| I saw the thread she started that said she was leaving but it seems to have been deleted. I didn't know Fran but it's so disappointing that an exception was not made for her to participate in the gift exchange. She had been a long time donating member and it's not even stated anywhere in writing that you must have a yorkie to participate. I also read in another thread that someone else was denied because she didn't have a yorkie either. She became a donating member just to participate in the gift exchange and was denied. I like YT and enjoy participating in discussions here and I thought this board was here for all who love yorkies--those who have a yorkie or dream of getting one, or to remember those that have passed. I always thought that when you became a donating member you got more "perks" than the non-donating member. I guess that's not the case. Very disappointing .....

Administrator | We are sad to see members leave, she left on her own free will. We know several members offered to do a a private gift exchange with her, but we do not know what happened after that. We have always welcomed her contribution and positivity here at YorkieTalk. We do not allow "I'm leaving YT" threads, as those will be deleted. We have always stated that Gift Exchanges were for Yorkies (and Yorkie mixes) as clearly stated in several Gift Exchange threads. Many Gift Exchange members go out of their way to buy Yorkie trinkets or Yorkie-related merchandise during non-Gift Exchange months, just so they can have stuff ready for the next Gift Exchange. Another member that donated just for the Gift Exchange (but does not currently have a Yorkie) was offered a full refund of her donation, which she took. YorkieTalk has ALWAYS BEEN FREE and will continue to do so as long as we can financially support this site. Donations are NOT REQUIRED NOR MANDATORY in any way, shape, or form. Members may donate on their own free will if they so choose. We never demand or require donations to post pictures, share stories, play games, or post emergency help questions. And our goal is to keep YorkieTalk free, because this community is all about helping Yorkies and for Yorkies parents. It's rather sad to hear members say that YorkieTalk is only about donations, because quite frankly, not many people actually donate. But that is fine and we accept that and continue to provide free service to all members that want to be here and contribute positively to this community. We understand that some members may not be financially able to donate and we have never penalized anyone just because they have not donated. Donations, do however, help pay for the maintenance and servers that help YorkieTalk keep running, and are very much appreciated. Thus, to show our appreciation, we do have some special bonuses for members that do donate. If you feel YorkieTalk is a benefit and useful, and you feel like giving a donation, we appreciate it. If not, that's fine and you can continue to use YorkieTalk as you see fit. The reason donations are required for Gift Exchange participants is that we have had members not send gifts even though they receive gifts in the past. Though not a big deal, we have personally paid out of our own pocket to make sure that each and every Yorkie Gift Exchange participant has gotten a gift. The reason YT Gift Exchanges were started was to bring Yorkies and their owners closer together and to have a special little event for our Yorkies a few times per year. That has not changed at all.
