| My youngest is really sick! Hi All. I am just writing to calm myself down. My youngest (she's 3)is pretty sick and we go to the dr. today. I am a total worry wart and didnt get no sleep last night because im just so bent out of shape. She was hospitalized last year for 6 DAYS for a bad bacterial infection that she got. She is having the same symptoms now except thats she drinking alittle. Her temp has been running 103, chills, throwing up, hardly peeing. Im scared to death their going to do it again. Of course they can NEVER tell me the exact cause. she did something like this 6 months PRIOR to the last episode and her dr than didnt do crap! shes sleeping right now. Im sorry to carry on im just really scared and freeaking. My children are my life and when their sick i get really freakish.. Thanks for listening. |

Until then did you try rotating out motrin and tylonal? Sometimes one works and not the other. A bath should help lower her temp as well. I know what you mean, it's terrible having a sick kid. When Dominick is sick I wish I could take all of his pain away and put it inside of me instead. Just now after I've only gotten 3 hours of sleep I'm up because he had growing pains when he woke up. I had to massage his feet until it stopped hurting. He finally fell asleep, but I can't. | |

| We went to the dr. He's giving me a DAY to get her peaking abit better and to keep an antibiotic down. If shes not better or cant keep it down there hospitalizing her. She has a really bad kidney infection. her cells in her urine was over 100 which is HUGE for her age. Hes really concerned byut he decided to go ahead and give me a day since shes still peeing and drinking some to get the antibiotic in her since she already is stressed enough. He said "she's a really sick little girl". I gave her motrin this morning and she seemed like a different kid when we went to the dr. she looked pretty good and even when he saw her the first time but when he left the room for only 10-15 minutes she went downhill fast. Started shaking, temp got back up real fast. I have a really bad feeling im going to be in the hospital with a very sick child for a bout a week. It's very hard to bring them back out of an infection like this on your own he said. Please pray for my baby!! |

| I'll keep Savannah and your family in my prayers. I think I would want her in the hospital on ivs. Hopefully, this time they will get to the cause of the problem. Keep us informed. Have you seen a urologist? I know I had continuous "bladder/kidney infections" that were being treated by my ob-gyn for almost 2 years. Yes, they kept me on antibiotics for 2 years. I went to a internalist for another problem and he found blood in my urine and sent me to a urologist. Within a few minutes the urologist diagnosed the problem, performed surgery, and I have never had another UTI. I guess my ob-gyns would have kept me on antibiotics for the rest of my life because they would have never fixed the problem with meds. |
