| PA Dept of Tourism Letter re Puppy Mills Just thought I would post a copy of the email I received from the PA Dept of Tourism after I had emailed them re my concerns in the matter. Will there be something done? I don't know but we can still let them know how we feel about the situation. Thank you for your email and for your interest in this challenging issue. Through conversations with the Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement in the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, it is my understanding that all enforcement steps are being taken given the current authority granted by law; however, Governor Rendell is examining all administrative, regulatory and statutory actions that may be necessary to further address the concerns being raised about this issue. This recent examination has led to changes. The Pennsylvania Dog Law Advisory Board was dismissed so that a new more effective board could be appointed, the Department of Agriculture has issued draft changes to the existing dog law in Pennsylvania and several other measures are being considered to create the best possible law for governing kennels. Thank you once again for taking the time to contact the Pennsylvania Tourism Office. I will make sure that Governor Rendell is aware of your email. I will also forward your concerns to the other agencies involved in this matter. Sincerely, J. Mickey Rowley Deputy Secretary Tourism |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | VERY GOOD. At least it's getting forwarded to someone in the right places.....Can you share your email to THEM ? Some people may write also if they have a little nudge and maybe reading your letter will help point them in the right direction. Do you post on Millbusters ??? It's run by YT and is a great place to keep ALL correspondence like this....You never know who may see your letter and decide to write one themselves - and the more the better for this cause. good work !! We may sound like we're spinning our wheels when we complain... but in reality, if we all did nothing - then nothing would ever change. |

| Sorry I didn't save my email. I just basically told them that for the last 10 or more years, we have made at least 1 and usually 2 or 3 trips to the Lancaster area and that would not be happening any longer because I was too disappointed in what I had seen & read about the puppy mills in that area. I suggested various guidelines that I felt should be enforced such as a limit to the number of dogs kept, sold, etc. I asked that they add their considerable influence to preventing the current situation. I also had emailed the governer's office & haven;t heard from them yet. I really think we should just continue to flood them with emails & then follow up on our convictions. I'm not really expecting a difference immediately but we can't just do nothing or we become the problem. I am also serious about not supporting the tourism or any other industry in that area. I am disappointed, offended and downright angry, I feel used & misled and as a Christian, I am ashamed. |

| WEll Let me tell you. Something STINKS in the dog law enforcement positione here REAL BAD!!!! For example. I had PROOF POSITIVE right in my hands waving it in their face trying to sue and know what. They closed their eyes and said it DIDN"T HAPPEN... just because the place I filed papers against said... NO WE DIDN'T..... I swear. I GAVE them actual certified paperwork and they ignored the vet certified paperwork and siad if the place said they didn't do it.. then they didn't do it!!!! I then filed to have the case reheard and asked them what the heck was going on because I had DOCUMENTATION that was verified..... and they still told me...Well they said they didn't do it... and then they closed the case Sigh... It cost me $2000 of my own money to prove this and they closed the case without even acknowledging my certified records The whole thing really irks me because believe me i could have used that money for Rescue and helping the other dogs but I made the mistake of thinking I could win for once by doing it this way.....WRONG!!!!!

| I am sorry to hear that. I have to say I don't really think anything will change out of the goodness of the heart of the elected officials. They are motivated by votes and they get those by catering to the business interests of their constitutuents. I wish you well for the actions you are taking to help our pets. I will pray for both you and the animals you are trying to save. God bless. |
