Donating YT 7000 Club Member | One Year Today. Can you believe it's been a year today since Hurrican Katrina hit? Ellen DeGeneres did a show today called "tribute to New Orleans" and it was very moving. It showed her when she went there a few weeks ago. The devestation that is still there is unbelieveable. We have to remember that even though a year has passed, these people still need our help.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Man Megan - we were living that hurricane and while it didn't hit houston like it was susposed to it sure does NOT feel like a year went by. I thought time flew faster when you get older but your post is saying something else...glad it isn't just me that feels like Katrina just happened. The devestation is something I think most of us have to see to believe. Pictures don't do it justice. |

| Wow, where has the year gone?! I think it's a great point that you bring up, Megan- it's been a year and even though it's not the main news story anymore, there is still so much work to be done there. My sister lives in Pensacola, FL, where Ivan hit 2 years ago... It was amazing to go there a year after Ivan and still see the devastation there- and they didn't have the MAJOR flooding that parts of NO experienced. I didn't catch the Ellen show, but I DVR'ed the Oprah where she's in NO- it looks like a great show. |
