| Don't be mad, but I had a friend the same way before we moved and we used to let the dogs have run of the basement while they were over. They were hardly there so it was no biggy. Turns out later I found out she hated dogs because if they lick her she breaks out and she just never said why she hated them |

| I'd hate to see the pets you love get in between a friendship. You should have fun and have a bbq if you want to. Is there any way to set up an expen outside so that the dogs can play and whoever wants to give them attention can go to them? I know my dogs love jumping on new people, so that is what I do when people come over because even people who like dogs don't like getting dirt on their clothes. I hope you can figure out a way to work things out. Or if you guys can talk about it, that would even be better. They might get offended if you have one anyways and not invite them without telling them why. Good luck! |

| I would say that you shouldn't have to change your home life around for anyone, especially if they are coming to YOUR home. But if you are wanting to have the bbq or stay friends with this couple, maybe compromise and put a barrier for the babies so they don't jump on her lap or anything. For example, my family loves coco but they've never been animal people and they are not comfortable sleeping with her when they come over. So to make them a little more comfortable I provide them with sheets coco has never touched and I let her sleep in her crate or stroller, so she doesn't jump on them. I'm ok with that because I don't want them NOT to visit and they don't that often anyway. It's just a personal choice.

| I realize its hard to imagine why some people don't like animals (how could they not) but there are certian things I don't like that people love... hopefully we can all compromise if we want to have friends... but of course its a personal choice. |
