Our Blessings R Many Donating Member | Prayers for RJ, little boy 7 yrs. of age While at my Dr.'s apointment this morning, there was a little boy seven years of age with his two older brothers waiting for their Grandmother. I started talking with them, the youngest little boy wore a helmet and he kept making remarks regarding his head. I asked the older boy 13 years of age, if there was a problem and he told me, "Yes, his little brother RJ is blind, and also suffers brain damage, he proceeded to tell me the story of what happened to cause this. It brought tears to my eyes and I felt such sadness in my heart for them. I went over and kneeeled by little RJ and talked to him, and told the older boy I would be keeping them all in my prayers. I will not go into the details as to what happened to this precious little boy when he was only nine months of age. It is something we hear so often, it was just too sad to repeat and it broke my heart, what nice children they are, they sat their so patiently waiting for their Grandmother to come back out from seeing the Dr. I was told their Grandmother has full custody and is raising them. I come here to ask others to pray for little RJ and also for prayers for their Grandmother for the Lord to supply her the strength and health to raise these dear ones. I have heard similiar stories so many many times, this is the closest I have been to anyone that had to endure such. As I was called in to see the Dr. I left telling them that I would continually be praying for them. The oldest looked into my eyes and said, thank you so much we really need lots of prayers. I have felt this morning stay with me most of the day and evening and couldn't help but come in to YT and ask others,Please won't you that believe in the power of prayer join in with me to be included in the lots of prayers going up for each of them. Thanks, Patti |

| You hate to hear stories like this, cause maybe if we don't know anybody personally, it won't really affect us. But the reality is that horror happens every single day. My prayers with be with little RJ and his family.

| You came on here to share your experience and how those boys touched your life today. From what I've read (and read between the lines), the story has touched you in such a special way. Now imagine for a moment the impact YOU made on their lives. You, a total stranger, knowing nothing about them, took the time to listen, really listen to them and to tell them you would have them in your thoughts and prayers. I admire you for that! God worked through all of you today - you, by touching their lives, and them by touching yours and leading you to share part of their story with us here on YT. Thank you for taking the time to share this. I will definitely add RJ, his brothers, and his grandmother to my prayers.

| Patty, your story broke my heart too. No child should endure what RJ and his brother had to. It must be so difficult for any one to raise two young boys and here is a Grandmother not only caring for two but one that need's special care. I admire that you are wanting to do more for them then simply praying. Do you suppose a visit from Baby Blessing might cheer him up? She seem to have a "special sense" for people who are fragile and I would bet RJ being blind would be so amazed to touch her silky hair and enjoy her kisses. I'm sure what ever you decide to do, RJ and his brother would be delighted with your gift. Dan's boss, has a special love for children, she prays over each toy and attaches a prayer card to the toy before giving the gift to a child.

| Not sure if I can give any good suggestions for you or not. My baby is 13 and I can't remember what he was interested in (other than baseball) at the age of 7 or what he even liked! But here goes: 1) Disney books on tape - what child (and children at heart) can resist a Disney story or movie 2) Look for some cd's of songs where kids are signing them, not the artist who originally recorded the song. 3) If you have a Discovery store (or science related store) near you, see if they have any "hands on" type game/toy. By touching and feeling, exploring with his hands, it may help him "see". But I'm sure whatever you select will be appreciated because it will come from your heart and there's nothing more special than a gift from the heart You may also want to try to find books in braille for the school he attends. If it's like any other school, gifts/donations of any kind are always welcome and appreciated! Please keep us posted on things if you can - RJ just might be your "angel on earth"!! Suzi

| Your story brought tears to my eyes. They are very fortunate to have a caring grandmother and a new friend. I also believe God has a reason for everything. I am sure you made their day and they will never forget that. I smile to myself because we hear so much bad in todays world and it's nice to hear people reaching out to one another. I think a visit from Baby Blessing would really touch them. Children always love animals around. I will be sure to keep them in my prayers.

| It tears me up whenever I read a story involving a child or an animal. Why do these little ones have to suffer? They are the innocent ones on this earth and they seem to do the most suffering. I will certainly pray for little RJ and his grandmother. I hope God gives her the means and the strengh to endure the future years with her two grandsons. I also pray that the grandsons give her the love she so deserves. |
