| I chose other. I think Poodles and Chihuahuas are cute but I really like Pomeranians (after yorkies). Some look like little foxes. Soooo cute. I like Chihuahuas over Poodles.

| Umm??? No offense, but who are we to choose the breed of your dog? Every breed of dog has different traits and special needs. It all depends on what you're looking for in a pet. I would suggest looking up a list of small breed dogs and their characteristics to fit what you're looking for. Or, there are a few good internet "quiz" type things that will help you find a breed that will fit your personality and place in life, etc. Such as: http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/search.htm Here's some advice, though....since you're looking for a "tiny" dog.... Make sure that the breeder you buy from gives a health guarantee. Ask the breeder if either of the parents has a history of health problems. And if the breeder advertises that they have "super-tiny" or "teacup" sizes, steer clear of them. We (here on YT.com) can't really help YOU choose the right breed for you, but we can surely give you good advice on finding a good breeder, etc.

| My brother has Poms and they are sweet - not exactly the dog for me, but then again neither are poodles or chi's.

| I think maybe why we aren't picking the other breeds is because yorkies are unique. Yes, they are a toy sized dog but don't tell them that! They are terriers and well... act like terriers something the other toys don't. I'm not saying you can't have a great pom or chi, but they're breeds I'm not interested in. Don't get me wrong there are other breeds I love but not in the toy group. I'm looking at getting a playmate for my yorkie and it'll be another yorkie or a min dachsie. I grew up with standard long haired dachsie show dogs and I do love the breed but a min would be best for my yorkie I think. |

| I have a Maltese and they are a great breed.. I find that my Yorkie really matches well with my Malt's personality, they really compliment each other. But do your research because if you don't get a Malt from a reputable breeder they can have a LOT of problems.

| Well I think.... Well I bet you know what I will say....Yorkie-Poo. You get the best of 2 cute breeds. No shed and they are a bit less stubron (sp). I like Bichons too. I think know though the yorkie-poo has caught my heart, well after a yorkie.

| I was a little nervous about admitting this on this forum, but we are getting a Yorktese in about ten days. I definitely wanted another puppy to raise alongside Kodah & thought about another Yorkie, but my husband & son wanted something different. We considered a Maltese - but I just don't think I can keep up with the grooming & tear staining, but I do think they are just adorable & have great personalities. My daughter has a 4# chihuahua, and they are very low maintenance & cute, but she won't cuddle with Kodah or lay close to her--just wrestles & chases. So we started checking into the Maltese/Yorkie mix & couldn't believe how hard it was to find one! - finally got on a ladies waiting list & should have one around May 5. She is going to probably be about 5 - 6 lbs which is what size my husband wanted. Kodah is still really small at 13 weeks but that doesn't slow her down! Good luck in your search - & I agree it's hard for others to pick something for YOU - many people like dog breeds I don't care for & there are even some people in this world who don't like Yorkies! (can you believe that!!!!!!) |

| There was a woman on this forum who was selling her litter of Maltese/Yorkie mixes for $200. I PM'ed her, but her located was just too far away from me to consider it.
