HUGE warning!!!!!! I wanted to warn everyone about a product Target sells -- it's a miracle my dogs weren't injured today! On Wednesday, I had bought a large bottle of Italian Soda at Target. I didn't have room in my fridge, so I put the bottle, upright and still in the bag, on the floor next to my butcher block table. It wasn't near any heat source or in the sun at all. This morning, I was having my coffee and I heard a big explosion and saw something fly into the air. My dogs were in the kitchen nearby having their breakfast, just a foot or two away. The Italian Soda bottle exploded and the top of the bottle shot up like a rocket. The bottle hadn't been shaken or even moved! It was really scary, and I had to put the dogs outside while I cleaned up the mess. It's really lucky that no one was injured. If I had tried to open the bottle, I would have been seriously injured! I'm going to take the shattered bottle back to Target and file a complaint. I'm spreading the word to please be careful with this product. I won't be buying it ever again, unless they change the container and make it more sturdy. The glass they use is rather thin. Julie

This stuff is in a glass bottle. I'm still finding little pieces of glass everywhere, sigh. I'm worried that my bulldog may have ingested a splinter of glass because she just threw up -- and she never throws up. I'd better send my robot vacuum around the house. When glass explodes, it can really travel. I don't want my dogs to get any glass in their paws, either! Sigh, Julie

Villette, We all jumped when the thing exploded! I immediately went over to clean up the glass and Bobby came with me, wanting to lap up the soda. I had to shoo them outside. What a mess! I'm still shocked that they'd sell something so volatile in a glass bottle! Julie

Well, I emailed the Target Corp. to alert them to the problem and then I called and spoke with a manager at the local store. I'm going to return the broken bottle this evening but I didn't want it to just get thrown away or shoved into a corner by a Customer Service person. They need to know there's a potential for injury and they should keep an eye on this product. If mine exploded just sitting on the floor, the bottles on the shelf in their store could explode, too. Man, when I think about how badly my Yorkie could have been injured by the exploding glass, I could just cry! Thankfully, he's a total momma's boy and was sitting with me when it happened! Julie

WOW! That is really weird. I wonder what made it do that. If the stuff explodes all on it's own, imagine what it could do to your stomach. What the heck is in it?

| I had a 3 liter Diet Coke explode in the front seat of the car once. Scared me to death and was a real mess. Luckily, it was diet - no sticky stuff! But I nearly wrecked the car! Not fun. Now I always keep a box in the trunk and sit it there. No more groceries in the front.

OMG! I would have really freaked out! I'm glad you guys are okay. I can't believe they put it in a glass bottle. To get rid of the splinters that might still be on the floor take a moist paper towel and wipe the floor down with it. You will be surprised at all of the tiny pieces of glass you can find.
