My son got hurt at work and had surgery I have had a very tiring stressful 2 days. My 19 yr old son got hurt at work and had surgery this morning. He broke crushed and severed his left ring finger. The doc thought he was going to lose it but was able to save the finger. My son was so upset and now he's on bad pain with 2 vicadins in him. They had him on moraphine and antibotics all night. I feel so bad and there's nothing I can do to help his pain. My husband and I slept at the hospital with him last night. What a treat that is (lol) and top it all off with 6 5 week old pups at home. I had to keep running back and forth from the hospital home. I'm glad were home

Sorry to hear about your son's accident. I hope it all turns out well. they can do so much now days, with severed appendages. When I was a little girl about 3 or 4, over 50 years ago, I cut my ring finger, left hand, on the blade of an old push mower. It was hanging on by just the skin. The Dr. was going to remove it. My mother begged him to try to save it becaue it was my ring finger. He sewed it back together, and said to watch to see if it started to turn black. It heaed, As it was across the first joint he said I would probably not be able to bend it. It works fine. That was 50 some years ago. I have faith that your son's finger will heal just fine.

I have a 20 year daughter and a 16 year old son. My daughter was in a bad car accident a few months back her b/f called me and said she is hurt BAD so I woke my husband who get's up at 3 am to go to work on the way there Erlanger the biggest hosptial in my area calles me and ask all kind of questions all i wanted to know is if my child was o.k they wouldn't tell me anything, then when I got there they wouldn't let me see her the cop was back there giving her tickets and she was out like a light and he threw them on her, so I couldn't go back b/c of my mouth I like to run it when I'm upset she stop breathing on impact so they cut off your pants and things on site and put tube down her she was black from one in to the other. OH by the way it was not her FAULT got out of tickets but have to pay medical bills (Sucks). She is o.k now still has bad head aches. I hope your son get well some i'll say a prayer for him.

I wish him a speedy recovery. He's lucky the doctor was able to save it, it could have been much worse. We don't realize how much we use our fingers, hands, and arms until something like this happens. He's lucky that he has you guys close by. No matter how old you are it's nice to be taken care of when you really need it.

It is so frightening when we get a phone call regarding one of our children. Thank heavens he will be better in time. I wish him a speedy recovery. If I were closer I would help with the little ones.
