| I LOVE my hardwoods, although you have to stay on top of the accidents. Mine are prefinished, although the next house I have, they will be the kind you stain and polyurethane so there's little chance an odor can get down under the wood. My parents had laminate and that worked really well also.

| I have hardwood floors Hey i have hardwood floors and when i first got Rocky he would sometimes go on the floor but then i would clean the floor from the pee or poo. Then wipe it down with vinegar so he wont smell the amonia from his pee and then i would wipe it with a regular wet napkin so the vinegar smell wont be so strong. But my floors are fine no problems with it no stains or anything. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | i have Pego floors in my kitchen, breakfast area, laundry room and halls adn carpet every where else. I love the pergo because it is so easy to clean. I had a problen a couple of weeks ago with it. We had a stoem and it blew over a big Ficus tree I had by the sliding glass door and I picked it up but didn't realize that water had gotten under the pot on the floor. Well we decided to get rid of the plant becasue Cali loved to chew up the leaves that fell so we moved it the next day and it had warped underneath and I need to replace 3 floorboards. SO if you make sure no water sits on it wood or Pergo are great. I have noticed now 4 years later a few scratches from the chairs and last night Cali was scratching on something in the Hall and it was a teeny tiny hole. I have no idea how that happened. I am getting all new carpet 7/3 and both my dogs have decided to have accidents which almost never happens. So I am afraid my new carpet is going to get ruined quickly. With Dogs wood is good if you don't have big dogs to scratch it. My sister has bigger dogs and her real wood floors are horribly scratched and worn, This is my experience with both.

| We have pergo floors in the living room. I agree they are very easy to keep clean. Sissy has never gone potty on the pergo floor. She will however go poop occasionally on the throw rugs. But, being throw rugs, they are machine washable. Wall to wall carpeting, on the other hand, has to be professionally cleaned and you get left with the mildew smell - YUK!

| I have hardwood floors and love it... We have three cats, and between the floors and the leather furniture we don't have as much hair floating around as we used to. A swiffer duster picks it all up. SO much better than when all the hair would imbed itself into the carpeting and such. Seemed like no amount of vacuuming ever got it out.... Just a warning though... Hardwood can still absorb urine and odors. We had to completely tear out the living room and replace several corners of other rooms because the previous tenant had cats that wouldn't use the litter box... It rotted the wood and floorboards under it. They were completely black and moldy and smelled like you wouldn't believe. We should've taken pictures... It did take years for it to get that way though, but I'm pretty paranoid it'll happen again so I clean up any accidents I find instantly! |

| flooring The new laminate woods like Pergo are great...hardwood can be damaged by dogs, but Pergo can take water and a horse stomping on it!!! I will never have a carpet ever again... |
