| Sergeants flea medicine for cats?? Anyone ever used this flea medicine on your cats? It is suppose to kill fleas, ticks, and repelll mosquitos. Is it safe to use on your cat or is it harmful?? Does it work, have your cats had a bad or allergic reaction to it? I would appreciate any opinions on this, thanks!!

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I would NOT use it unless you talk to your vet first. there are some pretty toxic Flea treatments on the market - I'm Not sure on the Sergent Products but ... NEVER use HARTZ !! that can kill - (it's dangerous for cats too) - One product was already banned but I would stay clear of all Hartz products.

| I use advantage for Jager (my cat) and frontline for Lady. My vet told me NOT to use the Advantix, she is very against it, since its a new product. Also she told me NO flea or tick collars because they can be toxic. |

| I would never use hartz and everyone needs to know that it does have a toxic ingredient than can kill your pet even the flea shampoos by hartz are dangerous. It is sad that they are allowed to still make this dangerous product. Oh and I hate flea and tick collars, they are disgusting and I get sick from being around them so I would never use those. Sergeants has different ingredients all together than hartz and I have not heard any animals getting sick off of it which is what I want to know. My dogs all get advange or revolution. I was just wondering if I could use sergeants flea med for my cats.

| Not a good idea. My friend was going to use it, and her vet told her no. I would try advantage, it works much better.

| I haven't used it before.... but then I've never used any flea products on my cats... Do a lot of people use flea preventatives on their cats? Are they outside cats?? Mine all stay indoors 24/7 and I've never even thought of using anything on them! |

| I use the flea medicine on Jager as a precaution, hes an indoor cat also. but we are always outside and with Lady being out there too, I just want to be careful so he doesn't get them. |
