| What are you doing for Mother's Day? Any special plans? My In-laws rented a party boat on the lake, so we are going camping and taking our boys and Tinkerbell. Leaving the rest of the furry crew with my mother. (nice mother's day present to her, right? LOL) I'm excited, I love to camp. I hope it isn't too hot though. What are you doing? |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | That sounds nice. Ok, I'm not trying to be a mother's day downer....but...for years I shared mother's day with my mother or my MIL. Yes, I got gifts, etc, but the rest of the day was more or less reserved for them. Now I no longer have my mom or MIL...so the day is all mine...and ya know what???? I wished I shared that day again. Enjoy your moms, ladies and I hope you have great plans....for yourself or them.

| I love my Momma, and try to celebrate he everyday, but for Mothers Day, I usually go get her something she doesn't have to plant outside, she loves gardening, so I'll do that, and usually have her up for dinner, whatever she wants me to make,,she usually wants me to make Taco salad.. or hamburger gravy over REAL potatoes... easy things, but that's what she wants... go figure.. Oh, and I got her this very cool and pretty watering can, which I had in my dining room, the last time she was over, she said " Oh that's pretty where did ya get that?" At least I know she'll like it.

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Plans Not sure what my plans are as yet. I would like a relaxing day at home with no chores or cooking. That is always top on my list of what I want. What I am getting will be a suprise to me. I usually stop off and put flowers in the cemetary for my MIL, drop off a gift for my mom, sil and husband's aunt. I call all the other mothers and wish them a happy one.

Oh, I'm not down about it. I meant I didn't want to make this thread sad by posting a downer reply And I'll admit it....I miss my MIL for my husband no other reason except I know how he feels.

| I plan a Mother's Day Tea for the ladies in my family. There are 4 generations of women that attend. Every year I pick the place and plan it. We have a blast. After the tea we go antiqueing. Not exactly "my cup of tea" but the ladies of my family enjoy it. We have been doing it for 5 years now and it is so much fun!
