| Peanut allergy?? I thought I might be able to get some info here with such a diverse group of people.... My 5 year old nephew got allergy tested yesterday. He has had his tonsils and adenoids taken out (couple years ago) and still has severe allergy/congestion problems. I swear you can hear him breathing from across the room! No over the counter medications work for him. Well, they finally got him tested and he was quite severe on many things. Just to share a very few... he's allergic to corn, soy, practically any and all plants/trees that God made (luckily no animal allergies!) and the worst of all... peanuts. Not the fatal kind of peanut allergy but this is one of his worst ones that causes the congestion. Unfortunately, he lives for peanut butter sandwiches! My thought was, with all the "fake" foods out there, someone has bound to have made a peanut butter that's not made of real peanuts. Does anyone know of such a thing??? He will be starting allergy shots soon but first they are trying a couple different prescription meds to see which one works best. Then he starts the shots. I got allergy shots for about 12 years and they really did work wonders so I'm hoping this works out for him. We've just got to find a way to get him his peanut butter fix though! Luckily he's not allergic to milk because he's a big milk drinker too. Any help out there? Much appreciated!!

| I don't know of such a thing, but I feel awful for your poor little nephew and his parents! Last weekend I was @ a baseball game and the guys next to me were opening a bag of peanuts. A guy in front of me was there w/ his daughter and asked them not to eat the peanuts because his daugther was deathly allergic.

| That must be really awful to have that deathly allergy to peanuts. So much to worry about for the rest of that kid's life! Did a little more research and the only "peanut butter substitute" products I can find contain soy - which is another product he's highly allergic too. It's not looking good for this peanut butter sandwich eating little boy! And just think of the foods with corn in them? Cereal, chips.... man, that would be tough to try to keep away from him.
