anyone have a maltese? If anyone can give me their opinion.. it would be great I am thinking about getting a maltese sometime in the near future. I've seen a lot of ppl on here who have a yorkie and maltese. i would like to get the new pup b4 my yorkie poopsie gets too old (she's 18 weeks now), cuz i want them to get along great. also, when i graduate from college and start my career, the two of them can keep eachother company during the day while i'm at work. i wrote to cookie and lola's mom about this a while back, but i would like to hear from some others who have both a yorkie and maltese... i was wondering.... 1. how well do your yorkie and maltese get along? 2. poopsie is a girl, do you think i should get a girl or boy? 3. do you know of/recommend any maltese breeders for me to look into? (i am willing to fly anywhere to get one) Thanks a lot

I have a maltese! Hi... I'm a proud owner of Morix, my 1 year old yorkie (male). I also have a Labrador (female) and last week I got a new member of the family, a baby maltese (female) She is 8 weeks old. I previously owned a maltese before and they are great (maybe less high manteinance than yorkies). Morix was jelous for like 2 hs and then became the best of friends. The three dogs get along great! I hope this is useful... Morix Mom

| Many members here also have a maltese. www.maltesetalk.com was started just for that reason! The two breeds seem to make fine playmates!

I go to MalteseTalk all the time, and there is never any new posts or anyone to talk to. I do go to MalteseOnly.com, and there is always new posts on there. I have a Malt and 3 Yorkie's and they all get along great. My Malt is so much more playful and energetic then my Yorkies. They are definatly a different breed. My Malt is the youngest, but she is the boss. And she is BOSSY!!! She also barks much more then my Yorkies too, but she is awesome!! I got mine from Puppyfind, and she was flown here at 8 weeks old from Oklahoma. She was yapping up a storm, the whole airport was looking at me!!

Maltese...more energetic than yorkies... Yes, it is true. I also find my little baby maltese much more energetic and loud than my Yorkie and my Labrador. She is only a baby but definitely she is the boss...Sometimes the other dogs look at me like "please, take her away from me" because she never stops!

My maltese also takes the role of "boss" and is probably the most attached to us- she is always by my side whether Im on the computer or in bed. She has probably the perfect personality and temperment and gets along great with our yorkies. I cant imagine not every owning a maltese! http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...6/IMG_0301.jpg a great forum is www.spoiledmaltese.com
