| Will most yorkies be able to go up and down stairs? My baby Louie is 10 weeks old and weighs about 2lbs. He is suppose to be around 5lbs when he is finished growing. I am wondering if he will ever be able to go up and down stairs or jump off and on a couch? He's a bouncy little thing and he always wants to climb up on the couch but I am afraid he might fall off and hurt himself, I'm just wondering if he'll ever get to come up on the couch or the bed with me?

| When Sully was 10 weeks, he weighed 3.2lbs. We had to carry him up and down the stairs on our back deck to take him out to go pee pee. It was so cute...him trying his very best to do it. Sometimes, we'd let him try and he'd make it up a step or two and then whine for us to pick him up. He was such a "hold me" baby! :-) Now, he's nearly 8 months old and is about 7 pounds. Maybe 8! (He's really getting big and I'm wondering how b/c his parents were both small!) Anyway, he goes up and down stairs without a problem. He also can jump on and off the couch. Jumping off the bed is no problem, but jumping on is a different story. LOL. He can, sometimes, but our bed is tall for him. It has been so much fun watching him grow and learn! We used to cheer when he was able to jump on and off the couch and now he does it without a thought.

| Gus is five pounds and he has been able to jump up and down from the couch for a while. He flies actually. My bed is much too high though.

| Chachi is a growing puppy but he is 3lbs 4oz and he can climb the stairs. We have to put a pillow on the floor and he can climb on the couch. If your dog is goona be 5 lbs it will be able to do the steps and couch. You will probably need stairs for your bed.

| Milo can go up and down steps but can't reach the couch or even our futon.

| Sheila is about 2.4 pounds (18 wks) and has no problem with stairs at all. The couch and bed she hasn't even tried to do. |

| Mia is now just over 8 months old - just over 5 lbs and can jump from the floor to the top of the back of the couch, to the top of the kitchen table. She flies off my VERY high bed like a squirrel lands on all 4 legs at once about 3 ft from the bed. Stairs haven't been a problem since she was about 3 lbs and figured out a cat lived downstairs! Some days I think she's part Tigger! |
