| Is my daughters room babyish? My sister in law was over tonight and told me that my 7 yr old daughters room was babyish. We are great friends and always tell each other how it is, so I'm not mad. I just don't really think it is babyish. She just turned 7 in Jan. and is only in the 1st grade. I don't know maybe a little babyish. I guess it may be time to redo her room again. What do you think? (and PLEASE be honest)

| Looks like a little girls room to me, ask your daughter if she wants a change...maybe she loves it, if she does then who cares. You are just going to have to change the whole thing in a few years anyway, i am the oldest of five and my mom was constantly changing our rooms and finally gave up. I am older now, and married but my mom is still trying to keep up with my 16 year old sister, styles change like she changes underwear he he.

| It's not babyish to me at all..it's very girly and Princessy...which I love!! I like her room..I think it fit's for a 7 yr old and wouldn't change it 'til she's at least 11!!! Kids especially little girls need to have things their age while they are that age...I hate GROWN acting Kids...again especially little girls...but this is coming from a woman who played with dolls until I was 13...and I just packed up my collectable dolls and teddy bears... edited to add...please let kids be kids as long as they want to be...ie look at Paris and Brittney...EEEEEEEWW

| Thanks for all your opions. I just did it for her 6th birthday. So it has only been a year. She still likes it but said she would like to get a new comforter. I had so much fun finger painting her room, and would hate to cover it up already.

| I think it's adorable and exactly what I would envision a 7 year olds room to look like!

| That would be to me a perfect girl's room at 7. Sometimes people are in such a rush for everyone to grow up. She is 7 let her be a child and enjoy her beautiful room... pay no attention. |

| At first when you said babyish I thought you meant having precious moments or pooh stuff around the room to where it looked like a nursery. I think it does look like a little girl's room. I wouldn't change it if your little girl likes it. Her opinion is what matters the most! |

| I think it's cute. Seems perfect for a 7 year old as long as it's what she wants and likes. |

| I agree it is looks perfect for a seven year old. If she likes it, that is all that matters. She'll let you know when it is too young for her.

| I think considering your daughter is 7 and not 17, it's a very appropriate room for her. And absolutely adorable! When I was her age, pink was my favorite color. Also, I see a lot of Sanrio stuff in there... I'm 21, and I still like Sanrio. Completely off-topic: I spy a Yorkie in that last picture! |

Ok just to clarify my opinion... The only reasons I have for thinking of the room as babyish is because growing up I never had anything like that in my bedroom. My room consisted of a closet, a bed, a black lab, and a toy box full of barbies. Nothing special. My room was like that until I was seven and then my brother and I were taken out of that particular situation by our daddy. Then I lived with my grandparents, aunt and uncle. My room then consisted of a desk, bed, and a tv. I then moved to Utah after my daddy remarried and then shared a room with a step-sister(now sister) until 11. Even then the most I had throughout my room was two beds, a nice nightstand with a mirror, a closet, and toys strawn around. I finally had a decent bedroom when I reached 15. Nice curtains, nice sized bed, sun seat, and percolen dolls. I should also mention I don't have any kids.(I'm 23) My ex-bf had a five year old daughter, now six. and I imagine her bedroom looks simalar to the above pictures so It is appropriate, but at the same time I thought it looked a little overdone. This is simply my opinion.
